It's blatant cheating. The league need to say this is unacceptable.
Yes, but I thought there was some over-riding principle that clubs had to act in absolute good faith? I guess when you've got the likes of Chelsea and City to deal with, expecting them to do ANYTHING in good faith is a non-starter.Premier League owners (unlike those in the EFL or under UEFA rules) rejected proposals to exclude real estate and other intra group profits. Rules are farcical and PL does not help itself in terms of its opposition to IFR by having such an anaemic rule book.
Were the names of the 9 owners who voted against closing the loophole ever published? I think we know one of them, and can guess a few, but it would be interesting to see.Premier League owners (unlike those in the EFL or under UEFA rules) rejected proposals to exclude real estate and other intra group profits. It's not new though - in previous years they have sold two hotels and part of the training ground in Cobham to themselves! My only hope is that as time goes on they are running out of things to sell - although presumably this is why they only sold part of the training ground, because they plan to sell the rest to make up the deficit in coming years. Wonder if they could sell the academy?Surely this is the end of PSR?
All clubs can follow this example now.
So any club could buy a row of lock up garages for £100k then sell them to the club's owner for £100m and show it as a profit ?Premier League owners (unlike those in the EFL or under UEFA rules) rejected proposals to exclude real estate and other intra group profits. So you can pick and choose which clubs you get to deduct points from, of course. It's all perfectly sensible. What's the point of having rules if they can be so flimsy that something as so blatant a f*** you to them as this is is possible?
It's pathetic. Why bother with the pretense at all?
Taking advantage of your expertise if possible, do they have to sell them to themselves at a fair market value? I see they rated their women's team as the second most valuable in the world. And can they do it more than once? i.e. simply sell the hotels, team etc to another part of the company ad infinitum.Premier League owners (unlike those in the EFL or under UEFA rules) rejected proposals to exclude real estate and other intra group profits.
