What's the f***ing point of any kind of financial rules or regulations if the league is going to allow such flagrant bullshit as this? Why dock points from Forest and Everton for going a few million over when this is allowed? Why even bother going after City?

You broke the rules? you're corrupt? No worries so long as we can all benefit, fill your greedy boots, go swim in your cash and 'glory' and f*** everything else you rapacious ****s.

yep.

Forest over spent, because they were promoted with a team of loanees and had to keep to a reduced PSR total because of two years in the Championship.

They had no choice but to break the rules.
Do you think the Premier League would have let them sell themselves shit they already owned, to dodge the rules?
Would they f***!

I agree with the sentiment but for ‘the league’ just read ‘the clubs’. That’s all the league is. The clubs make the rules. Seems that’s where the problem is with this as Chelsea will have ‘got away with it’ and enjoyed a massive advantage if others can’t exploit the same ridiculous loophole. Maybe they could have proposed a relaxation of PSR for all clubs of the same amount Chelsea have wangled AND banned future deals of that type?

Unlike Everton and Forest (and probably Citeh), Chelsea seemingly haven't broken any rules. The rules should be in place to stop this happening (again, in Chelsea's case) but the other PL clubs are seemingly happy with the loopholes to remain in place.

Don't blame Chelsea (who have repeatedly shown that they will use any loophole there is), blame the other clubs for refusing to close the loophole. Fans should lobby their clubs to let them know that they are unhappy. Or ask questions via the FAB. The only reason I can think of (for not closing the loophole) is that other clubs want it in place in case they need to exploit it.

It wil be interesting to know Barber’s thoughts on this. Anyone dare to ask him and summarize on here?

I assume we were one of the clubs who didn’t show any interest in closing this loophole

You either have spending restrictions or you don't

If you do, you can't keep open ridiculous loop holes.

By refusing to vote this loophole dead, one thing is certain. PSR will fall. It might stagger on for a season or two, but it will collapse under the weight of legal challenges soon enough

I don’t suppose his cares given in the main we are the ones benefiting from Chelsea’s overspending
Be interesting to hear him justify his/the club position though.

I will be disappointed if we were one of the club’s who blocked the vote.

Gods country fortnightly
Sadly football is slowly eating itself. Too many of the actors (almost all foreign) are in the game for completely the wrong reason.

They see football as a pure money making scheme, a cover for a repressive regime or just a vanity project. This is where we are.

We need a football regulator with teeth, but will the government have the balls?

I heard Chelsea were planning on flipping their hotel complex back to the club for a cheap fee (allegedly), so they can sell it again when the shit hits the fan in the next couple of years. It stinks but is quite clever if they're allowed to keep selling assets to and from different parts of the 'business' to get around FFP.

What is the message here? That everyone else thinks, ok we'll cheat as well.
It's not right!
The message here is that the Premier League is a self-regulated shit stain on the name of sport. The only thing you can do is laugh as its members use preposterous 'loopholes' to circumvent any attempts at introducing any kind of fairness or equality (which along with jeopardy, are the pillars of what we laughably refer to as sport - Honestly if Brighton were not involved would you really be that interested?).

Of course, the apologists will look the other way with meaningless nonsense like 'if it's not in the rules it's not cheating'. Missing the point that its not really about cheating its more about fixing the rules/circumventing the rules to allow money to be king.

It's laughable to refer to the Premier League as a competition. To me, the best thing that could happen to football would be for the Super clubs to f*** off and create their lawless super league and the FA to create a competitive competition with the remaining clubs.

And yet the Premier league is still waiting for a regulator...
It will be a toothless tiger, outmaneuvered and clogged up by expensive lawyers. Just like City are doing right now.

Yeh. In football, like in politics, most yearn for a benign, all powerful supreme person or body which can hold the powerful to account and achieve just outcomes all the time.

Sadly, in neither instance is it going to happen.

The regulator will basically be able to do nothing.
