That was reported a few weeks back.
Paul Warne said Cashin stayed home waiting for it to go through then at gone 11pm drove to Derby hotel arriving for their away game at 2pm - hence he was a sub rather than a starter last weekend
You would have thought, subject to injury it goes through on 1st Jan and Derby now have couple of months to line up deals to strengthen the squad with the proceeds - think they need EFL approval for all transfer deals coming out of administration - so delay of couple of months or so I suspect enables them to get any deals they have in mind "pre-approved"

I went to watch Pompey v Derby last week and was really impressed by the Derby number six at the back. He looked really solid and composed for a League One defender against one of the best attacks in the division, a level above the Pompey centre backs who are running away with the division. Also seemed really mature and a leader on the pitch and definitely not afraid of the physical battle, he is strong. And despite not being the tallest centre back, looked decent in the air.
Anyway, not having watched much of League One this season and not knowing many of the players well, I went away and did some research and put two and two together to realise it was this guy who we went in for last year and by all accounts has had a great season. I can’t believe he’s only 22, looks and plays about 10 years older, plus, he’s a left footed centre back! Can definitely see why we were interested and on that evidence, I hope we go back in for him again.

Ah see, I don’t have as much of a problem with Pompey as most on here. I quite enjoy a trip to Fratton, proper football ground with a good atmosphere.Keep up the thrice-daily showers and you might just about start to feel clean in time for next season
Having lived between the two for many years, I much prefer Portsmouth as a club and fans to Southampton and 100% prefer Fratton Park to the lifeless pit of despair that is St Mary’s.
I've spent many a long afternoon in the Cob & Pen with a good mate who lived in Fareham.
He grew up supporting Pompey, but soon morphed into a plastic scouser and barely follows them now. We've never gone to a Pompey game at Fratton as a result, though I have played there twice.
It's all pantomime fun IMO, but as fan-bases go, Pompey really are right up there as the great unwashed

I went to that game last weekk and paid close attention to him as well.
Totally agree with your points. Like you say, he's not the biggest of centre-backs, kind of looks and plays in the mould of Adam El Abd. I thought his biggest strength was the reading of the game, he was always getting into the right positon to win the ball and to make blocks. On the ocassions he had the ball, he looked to get the ball down and play to his midfielders. No wonder Albion were interested in him, he would totally slot into the team, however buying Igor last summer might have blocked his move now.

He's really improved this season, I had my doubts but he'll probably end up POTS. It's he premier league ready though? Not so sure. Signed a new contract until 2027 so less of the trying to do us over

According to the article posted above he was going to sign on the summer deadline day but by the time the fee was agreed it was too late to organise the medical. Igor was already a Brighton player by then so it wasn’t a block to the move.
Wonder if we will go back in for him this summer, but he’s got a new deal now so I imagine he’ll be a lot more expensive.
