[Albion] Who will leave us in the summer

You asked for a surprise, I think Enciso might be the surprise. I believe the kid is already on the verge of being superb, nay top-class, we just haven't really seen it yet because he's spent most of the season injured. Moreover I think Julio himself might believe the same and may have been thinking - 'one more year at Brighton, then I'll move on'. And he may still be thinking that regardless of the injury. Put it another way, if a good move becomes available, I wouldn't be at all surprised if him and his agent really push for it.

When he signed his last contract there were some rumours of other clubs being interested in him, if I remember correctly. I was quite pleasantly surprised to read an article from his agent that seemed to pretty firmly steer him towards staying at Brighton and looking at it from the view of being best for his development. He certainly seemed sensible and more concerned about Enciso than agents fees.

Tony always talks about one sale a year. We only sold caciedo because the price was absolutely ludicrous. On that basis I think he will hold pretty firm in the summer.

My prediction is Mitoma will be the big guy that goes. Maybe man city , hopefully at least 50m

Pervis. Been rubbish this season so far can't see any big bids coming in.

Pedro. Definitely going to be interest, but we won't let him go for less than 100m+ and I don't see anyone stumping up the readies.

Enciso. Only had about 6 good games for us. Still has a lot to prove. And we won't let him go cheap.

Lamptey. Could see him going, he's hired a new agent and for some reason seems keen on a move.

Undav. All but gone.

It’s just tiresome. Ferguson is the prime example. Bangs a few in and clearly a talent and NSC is discussing what he’s worth - who gives a shit - he’s our young player. It’s like the tabloids that link everyone with everyone in terms of transfers - tiring and normally BS! Enjoy our players and the ride…
It's hardly NSC's fault that whenever we get players who are clearly capable of playing for bigger teams with bigger pay scales the media start selling them for us. Sure we could ignore it but why? Who we can retain is of real interest and concern to supporters of the club.

TBH I am not worried about any players being poached I actually don't see mItoma going, Pedro yes but in the current climate with teams scared of running foul of FFP I don't see the asking price being met. My big concern is RDZ, at least this time we will not be blindsided. As for Pervis being rubbish WTF.

Yep, I am not too worried about the players. I don't like how it's all gone quiet, re Liverpool. The pundits have RDZ running a close second to Alonso. RDZ would be a fool not to take it if offered, we really don't have the resources to constantly punch above our weight, a regular top ten finish with an occasional sniff or two at some silver ware and an on-off spot in Europe is probably the best (and bloody proud of this we should be) we can hope for. Whereas Liverpool whilst he would be under extreme pressure to get results, have the resources he needs.
Agree . Why would you turn down Liverpool? We’re punching well above our weight. Next year’s going to be a much tougher PL and we’ll do well to get a top half finish.

If we don’t get back into Europe, I can see quite a few going, especially as our modus operandi seems to be “ whoever you are, so long as people pay, thanks for the memories”

so I see Fati, Pedro, adringa, Mitoma, Ferguson, pervis and probably pascal if he establishes himself in the German team.

these are the salad days
Salad days precisely. I still remember us languishing in the lower divisions playing the likes of Rotherham and Grimsby

TBH a regular PL spot without the constant fear of relegation would be brilliant, anything extra is just that an extra bonus that may come along infrequently.

It was a while ago that we were "languishing". It's not a coincidence that once the stadium was almost complete we won league one and have powered on since with only one dodgy season in the Championship. It's a completely different club to the one that nearly got relegated out of the league. So yes times are good but I think salad days is a bit harsh, we will have peaks and troughs in the PL but I see us as holding a place for quite a while.

Hope you’re right. But Everton are a bigger club than us and have shown how it can all go badly wrong .

100% this. When those extra bonus things come along we’ll enjoy them properly too, like Europe this season. Would hate to be a Man City fan and barely be able to muster up any enthusiasm for another routine trip to Wembley.

Everton has been badly managed for years now and this is bearing fruit. The absolute opposite is true for us. My biggest fear is not the squad, or the team management, it's that TB will, for whatever reason, no longer be in charge. While we have an owner who has realistic ambitions and the love of the club central to why he has invested, we will remain in good shape.

You’re in dialogue with a non-Albion troll, on easy to spot wind ups.

F**k this is a depressing thread. Small club mentality at its finest. According to some, we are losing our manager, selling all our best players and are just happy to stay up. Some of you need to read up on the law of attraction.

At the moment we can't say. If players change agent and see us lose RDZ and fail to qualify for Europe again, they'll think one way. But if we finish strongly, hang on to RDZ and maybe invest a little more of our transfer profits, they may think differently.
