Hodgson lying to try and save his job - says that the medical team said Olise couldn't play the first half, but could play the second half. WTF is that? That's not a thing.

Palace were totally outclassed in the first half, and at 3-0 down they were not going to get any points, with or without Olise. Bringing him on was a brain dead decision by a man who's out of his depth. One of his excuses was supposedly that you don't bring someone of Olise's quality to a game and not play him. More BS from a man who used to be able to manage, but is turning into Nathan Jones.
And he also said that they 'grew into the game'. What on earth does that mean? We were so dominant that we eased off considerably in the second half but we were still almost completely comfortable. Their goal was good, but no way were palace anywhere near us.

Still worried @Dougie was the one knocked out on camera - he’d normally be on here for a chat - really worried…
Worry not, my friend, I am sure Dougal would never get in a scrap. He’s not even brave enough to come on here after yesterday. He’d have been at home eating alphabetispaghetti on toast with his old Mum before retiring to his stinky room for an Only Fans viewing session with Astrid Wett.

I know sometimes we get frustrated by players we’ve sold - but the astute business decision to sell players at their peak and reinvest vs Palace who generally don’t, or they walk for free like Zaha is incredible.

If they had of cashed in occasionally they’d not still be playing Schlupp & Ayew, Tomkins on the bench etc

The young Brazilian they’ve got looked alright when he came on but seemingly Hodgson barely plays him!
Igor took the piss out of their Brazilian wonder kid, brushed him aside like a fly.

Surely the player has got to take the majority of responsibility here, he presented himself well enough to be in the Squad. It is however incredibly naïve of him and those around him to think a hamstring pull will recover in 4 days

Their biggest fear

Having a shit manager
Their record signing being not up to it but they're so bad he has to play 2 days after being signed
Their best player having spaghetti hamstrings
Olise and Eze being the same player so they don't get seen at the same time
Their only hero is in turkey
Haha, I have long wondered this....

Sadly, for him and palace, he's not the brightest spark as evidenced by this interview last year.

Simple miscommunication. They said he was only fit enough to be on the bench first half. Sadly Roy didn't hear the second part when they said that after sitting on the bench for 45 minutes he'd need to go back to the treatment room.

The Olise situation was just such a clear demonstration of incompetence across the board wasn't it?

"Hamstring injury? Yeah stick him on the bench gaffer he'll probably be fine... Just not for the whole game"

I think we can assume that whatever happened 4 days ago was quite minor and they thought he was ok to play a part (albeit not 90). Much like when we played Estupinan after his injury, and he immediately got injured.

So if he had started the game with the hope of having an impact and then coming off at halftime, I could understand. Equally I could understand him coming on in the second half for the same reason. But when you're 3-0 down, there is no point in risking him, the game was done. Once 3-0 down it was the manager's choice to bring him on, and that was inexcusable IMO.

Then you add in the BS that he gave in interviews. He said that the medical team said he could play second half, but not first. That's a lie, that's not a medical thing. Sure, they may have said he can't play both. A few months ago he said he had to make decisions based on what the fans would think (a decision on bringing Eze off I think), because the fans wouldn't understand what the best decision was, and he's done similar again yesterday, saying you don't bring someone like that and then tell them they can't play. Yes you f***ing do (on both counts) because you're the manager and you're in charge you spineless idiot.

Plus, I'd imagine Olise would have been ok with not coming on at 3 down.

Not IMO - the board shouldn't be any part of the decision to play him. Medical team and Olise should decide if he's able t play any part, and his condition should be discussed with the manager. Once he was on the bench it's down to the manager whether it's worth the risk or not. Once it was 3-0 down, Olise could have said no, but that's a good look from a player when earlier they would have said yes, I feel I can do 45 minutes.

Dougie we’re with you mate -
He’ll be along any minute… poor fella…
That gutless turd won't show up on here but you can be sure he's viewing.

Definitely not him getting a slap either as he doesn't actually go to games. Home or away.

what a difference between Brighton and Palace. Away drubbing for both teams, Brighton fans dissapointed, stay to the end to show their support, players go and applaud them
Palace fans dissapointed, leave at half time, those that remain shout and swear at the players who went over, and swear and argue back

Quite simply a different class

Morning all, I reckon their biggest fear right now is that scans today/tomorrow will rule Olise and Guehi out for the rest of the season. I reckon they’re close to being a cooked goose if so.

Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.
If they had any sense, they'd keep that quiet if true.

Expect a press conference this afternoon.

Some of the decision making was amateur like from someone as experienced as Roy Hodgson.

Who on earth throws a fullback into their PL debut away at a side known for their attacking play. He was totally exposed and out of his depth.

Then you throw another debutant into midfield where he literally can’t have more than a couple of training sessions. RDZ wouldn’t do that in a million years. The poor kid was so far off the pace of the game it was embarrassing though not surprising.

And as for the Olise debacle?!?!

No wonder they want Roy out.
