I keep hearing about this 3 wins in 16, mainly from crowing fans of lesser clubs. What no one mentions is that in the same period we’ve won 4 EL matches and 2 away FA Cup games. Recent league form has been disappointing of course but we've had one of the worst injury records in the league, I think 3rd only to Newcastle and Brentford. And while we’ve not won a lot of PL games recently, we’ve drawn a lot.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but four defeats in twenty isn’t it? ???

I said in the tracker thread, if we’d beaten at home SheffU, Burnley and Fulham, we’d be on course for Europe. In each game over the 90 we were superior.
...and Pedro skied one that would have seen us beat Liverpool at home too.

Leicester signing the inter player looks to be off so this is now dead
This is bizarre. It seems that they were never going to be able to afford him unless they sold KDH. I think they were gambling to Tony stumping up the £40m today. Bad move.

They flew the Ital all the way to the UK in preparation for the deal. What a thoroughly depressing fight home he has.

So wheres the Europe last games and FA Cup 5th round (despite a tough draw) stats ? We were always going to find it difficult this season with extra games.

Idiots, probably the player at the end of day fancies a summer move to Arsenal

I have a nagging feeling in my gut that we'll get this one over the line.

Disclaimer: I'm REALLY gassy today, so it might just be that. I certainly have no inside info.

But all of this makes me think it's (probably) going to happen:
  • The Maresca - RdZ bromance
  • Leicester have (apparently) signed Sensi from Inter.
  • We are (apparently) open to Moder leaving on loan
  • Dahoud has gone (freeing up wages)
  • We need someone ready to go
  • He's still quite young, so has a way to go until his prime/price ceiling
Turns out it was all guff after all

Heading back to Milan from Leicester? I think he’ll be ok!

But anyway

Ah well Kiernan. Ships that pass in the night.

What I think should and will happen is that RDZ will give more minutes to Baleba. I've sort of got a theory (which I admit is based on nothing at all), he's been holding Carlos back as a way of saying to Bloom, "go and get me the £30m midfielder I need". Bloom didn't budge on this, quite predictably. RDZ will now play Baleba, maybe starting Saturday and he'll be inconsistent, like all players of that age, but will do all right and in the months and years to come, will flourish into some player.

We'll all look back and say, probably Bloom was right not to spend 40million quid on a 25 year old, who, whilst a decent player, it's unlikely we could ever get our money back on

Whilst I don't agree on the Baleba stuff (I think RDZ is seriously concerned about his positioning when playing through the press as was evident in the Palace away game), I think the rest is right.

I'm sure KDH is a very good player and would've improved us but I'm fairly certain that we wouldn't spend £30m on a player like that in the summer transfer window. It's just not very us - we look for better value (including return value) in our summer signings than that.

I noticed Naylor tweeted something along the lines of us going back for Osman and Dewsbury-Hall in the summer.

That got me wondering about value. KDH is only a value signing if Leicester have to sell to us due to FFP/PRS. Were not paying circa £40m for someone his age with a ceiling that is definitely not World Class.

But is could be that Leicester (like Chelsea’s rumoured -£100m position) need to sell before the 30th June. That might be what Naylor is referring to as Leicester won’t have an issue with future funding (24-27) as their have the Premier League millions. The fact they sent the Italian home after a medical because of cost suggests they are in for a difficult June potentially selling some of the family jewels.

Not sure you can argue they won't have issues with funding for 24/27 when that's exactly what problem Forest have had!! Also bear in mind, whilst they got a fee for Maddison and Barnes, they lost a lot of good players, Tielemans, Amartey, Perez, all without a fee to help balance the books.
