He’s not even played for us for a season yet. The club need to be careful, read the room, letting too many players go too soon, is starting to swing too far towards letting big clubs walk over us. Praying the board hold their nerve now for the rest of this window.

Especially when top 4 is a real possibility for us.

They’ve stated he’s not for sale.

Jakub Moder too. A player, shamefully, I’d forgotten about until just now. Hope he comes back and prospers.
He won’t and we haven’t - but £10m Gilmour - underused so far - and £7m Koslowski - having a decent loan spell - will be following this pretty closely.
Moder was being used wider than Caicedo is by both Potter and Poland, though he's a terrific footballer on his day. Have to hope the injury has completely healed and it'll be like having a new player. I have more hope of Koslowski than Gilmour having seen the latter. He's about half the player Caicedo is and looks more suited to the Lallana role anyway.

Wasn’t it Potter himself who said 40 odd million would only buy Caicedo’s boots and we’d want at least double that to sell him?

Perhaps he should let Boehly know that’s a shameful bid, and surely just an attempt to unsettle the player - I’d be tempted if I was Bloom/Barber to cut all communication with them for the time being.

I just don’t want Caicedo to go to ****ing Chelsea.

I think we can get the money off a team like Madrid or Barca if he has to go in the summer or next year. But, the message to Chelsea should be - no deal without Colwill going the other way. They won’t like that one bit.

Yep, Colwill and 65million will do it, but I really, really don't want him to go to Chelsea, one reason I could never boo him and booing or giving Chelsea grief is a given now. I really think if he has to move on, then Liverpool are crying out for his skills, and to be fair I would not mind that step up. Ideally a foreign giant would work. We can then watch him from afar with fondness and good wishes.

But it never works out the way you want, and we all know where he is going don't we, I just hope were wrong.

Stay until the end of the season please.

I was really confident he would be staying this window but now I am getting a little twitchy. We all know he has a price we would accept and anyone who says “not for sale at any price” is a clown. If they offer a billion then obviously we accept. So now it is getting the price we accept between 55 million and one billion.

I really hope he stays and leads us into europe but I kind of wish I could hibernate until the window shuts.

Yep. I was working on the assumption that Chelsea wouldn't meet our notional 'asking price' but they seem to be spend spend spend this window without any limits, so perhaps they will offer something like £80m+ it would take. That would be a big test of Bloom's resolve and the 'model', as we don't have a ready made replacement in house, so we'd need to buy in at high cost.

This one where we need to hold firm and say no sale in January no matter the fee offered. The same teams will come back in the summer. Chelsea have taken so much from us, if they do seriously want Caicedo then as others have said we should be telling them it’s something like 60m plus Colwill, or no deal. You want something of ours so badly, well you’re going to have to give something if yours…

I think we are in good position to say no. I personally feel Moises could better than Chelsea in the summer, I suspect he feels that too. Caciedo has looked nothing but happy here this season, playing his best football with a bunch of mates and the chance to get us into Europe. A big move awaits in the summer I suspect and he should have a wider choice of destinations other than a dysfunctional club in West London that failed to qualify for even the Europa Conference league
