f*** him. He made his choice.
Thankfully we didn't have the same approach with Glenn Murray. Or is it only players that are allowed to further their careers and be welcomed back (even after going to Palace and scoring loads of goals against us)?

Murray was forced out and didn’t want to leave, he’s said this multiple times. It’s an entirely different story. Ben White, Bissouma and the majority of ex players and managers who have left the club don’t get pelters. They left the right way, not the same as Cucurella, Potter, Bruno et al getting a sniff of more money and running off mid-contract to a project that’s doomed to fail.

The short-term impact of losing Bruno hasn't exactly been catastrophic. Mid- to long-term? We shall see, I suppose (personally , I don't have the understanding of the game to predict that). Generally I like employing a club legend, good for culture, good for players, etc.; however, on a purely emotional note re Bruno these days I'm slightly in the f*** 'im camp.

He wasn’t forced out, he just didn’t get the salary he thought he deserved when we got promoted

It was beautiful while it lasted but he jumped ship at a time when our club was being ripped apart.
I'm not as naive as others who believe his lies that he left because he thought he wouldn't have a job here. Apologist nonsense from a money grabbing Chelsea whore.
He burnt his bridges, let him live with it.

Murray was offered a new contract but wanted more money than was on offer. The club didn't make a second offer so he went to Palace for more money than we were offering.

Dean Hammond came back too.

Salary we spent on CMS, forcing him out. His requests weren’t excessive and far lower than we ended up paying CMS.
Partly Ken Browns fault. We could have kept both but the way they did the budgets was very inflexible. Plus Gus didn’t really bust a gut to keep him

I was under the impression he was offered far less than new signing CMS, I can understand him saying “f*** that” if so

I also believe Poyet was a bit of a prick to him and about it, his big ego was starting to run away with him around this time.

He wouldn't have known because he'd already signed for Palace.

I really doubt he didn’t have a good idea that CMS had been offered a much higher salary than him, but who knows for sure. It was a month before that he left so you may be right though.

I prefer to believe that we didn’t try that hard to keep Murray either way
