I’ve absolutely no idea what went on, but I can’t buy into the idea that the Albion would have dismissed Bruno.
Correct. Even when you remove all emotion from it, it would be a terrible business decision - invest loads of time and money into his career and then dump him because his line manager jumped ship? I know football is different to most industries but asset protection (playing and coaching staff) is kind of the business of football clubs.

If Bruno’s aim is to become a manager in his own right he would have been better learning from RDZ to broaden his experiences. AC has is job now and can’t see that changing and I believe RDZ has just recruited another Italian coach so that ship has sailed. As for Roberts Sanchez is attempting to save pens now so not a great loss 😁

Is he any good as a coach? Why on earth was he identified as the attacker coach (or was that rumour?)

Definitely not a rumour. Was in an interview or something the club posted on the website.

It’s business at the end of the day. If there’s a suitable vacancy and he’s the best person available for the job (taking all factors into account), then he can have it - but no favours. If there are more suitable candidates then sorry old pal.

The problem with returning to a club you once coached at is that you cannot restore your reputation like a player can.

Glenn Murray got dog's abuse for leaving us for Palace - rightly so, in my opinion - but he came back, scored at hatful of goals and took us to The Promised Land. His reputation was fully restored. Whereas, Bruno's actions can never make that sort of impact.

I don't see what Bruno could add to a club that has - arguably - improved since he and the other 5 coaches left for Chelsea.

Indeed, our response to 'The Chelsea Exodus' has defined the way the club is now. I don't want any of them back at this club any time soon, especially while RDZ is manager.

That said, whilst I wish Potter and his turncoat team only ill I would genuinely like to see Bruno succeed as a manager. I think he made a really poor decision in going to Chelsea because they have plenty of other coaches who does what he does, while RDZ literally had no one left standing and would probably have found Bruno's contribution useful.

However, in adversity the senior pros have really stepped up, notably Lallana, Dunk and Gross, and Lallana could easily become the new Bruno.

We just dont know that.
Had anyone (excluding TB & PB) really taken notice of what RDZ was doing previously, and whether his coaching credentials were that good?
All ifs and buts at this point.

I don't really buy that. I can't see how that is an awful position. If we'd hired De Zerbi and he'd said absolutely not, get rid of Bruno right now, then he would surely have just gone and joined Potter at Chelsea then. I also really can't believe that if Bloom had said to RDZ 'the one non-negotiable is that Bruno stays at the club in this role' I really can't see RDZ saying no, he wouldn't take the job then. So I'd say there are all sorts of different perceptions of what the situation was here. I've also been told a couple of times that Bruno's wife was really pissed off about him taking the Chelsea role, and didn't want him to.

I think everyone would welcome him back if he decided he's made a mistake, but that's not going to happen.
Absolutely this.

Don't forget that we had 3 Spanish speaking South American players who spoke very little to no English. Yes RDZs got his normal translator coach but having another one would really have helped.

No way at all Bruno would have not had a job. Of course we didn't know RDZ was coming, but the bloke is such a legend here he's even got a lounge named after him in the 1901 bit.

To suggest that Bruno left because he didn't know if he'd have a job is not only making excuses for him for his pretty crappy departure and the situation he left here, but doing the club (TB, OBE and DW) an absolute MASSIVE disservice. It's bordering on insulting by suggesting that they would reward his loyalty for the last 10 years and staying despite Potter offering him a job with him, with a P45. That would never have happened, no matter the Bruno apologists statements to the contrary.

I don't think that we should have him back. Just feels wrong, like he's bigger than the club and we'd be very lucky to have him back no matter what he does.

Life's too short to hold grudges
That's true. I've been divorced from my ex for about 28:years now. I no longer hold grudges no matter what she did which really affected me at the time.

But I'm f***ed if I'll let her back in my life again in any way shape or form.
