Am suprised that some on NSC thought he did well at Cov. I thought he looked well out of his depth at this level, with no pace, beaten too often in the air and poor positional sense. While to be fair a new player needs some time to adjust, with time running out we cannot afford to have such a...
It is apparent what a hammer blow to our survival hopes the loss of Adam Hinshelwood was. On the evidence so far Dolan looks like a lower division stopper whose limitations and lack of pace will be severely exposed at this level. Whilst Coventry may have been his first game for a while he was...
Really!! While it may have been his first game I thought he looked incredibly limited at this level. His positional sense and reading of the play was poor and he let his man go far too often, was beaten in the air many times and gave away too many fouls. I would be extremely worried about Dolan...
I can understand offering a year to Butters, Carpenter (both due to age), and Hart, Mayo and Oatway (due to reservations as to whether they can hold their own at this level in the long-term), but would be amazed if Hinsh was offered a year. A comparable player, Adam Virgo, was signed for 3 years...
Once again, Bens Grandad is talking a lot of sense regarding the Albion. Also, given the clubs uncertain future, 1 year contracts may be the best that can be offered.
while both players have been great servants, I would have doubted how much of a role they would play in a team looking to...
Glad that he has signed, but it would be 'great news' if had signed till 2007 or 2008. The club would surely have rather signed up one of their potentially best players for more than one year, so it is hardly a great demonstration of Hinsh's commitment to a long term future with the Albion...
Agreed 100%. Blackwell, Rodger/Sidwell, Brooker, Ingimarsson and Zamora would walk straight back into our team. Throw in Darren Currie and we would have the nucleas of a useful side.
It just goes to show what a good job Mark Mcghee is doing when you look at the weakness of our current squad.
Have to agree. Defensively we have looked fine without Cullip as there are ready replacements in Hinshelwood and Virgo, but there is no-one who can fill the role of Currie, and regardless of the state of the pitch the lack of a player of his quality was painfully clear against Gillingham.
It appears the ref last night, Graham Salisbury, has a reputation as a complete arsehole.

Agree regarding Zamora, but re.Paul Brooker could we really have offered similar wages to Reading? I don't think so. Throw in the chance to play in a decent stadium under a manager that he played under before with a potentially successful team and it would have been an easy decision for him...
I would agree that Cullip put in a good performance against Dichio and that it is the nature of the game that markers will foul, its just that Cullips tendency to give away fairly cheap fouls is liable to cost us at this level.
Leicester were not all over us, they resorted to hitting long balls to Dublin.
The second half performance today merited some reward, but the opening 45 minutes were absolutely dire and showed how life will be without any footballers in our team (with the possible exception of Alexis Nicolas...
