That really is crap. One good save by the keeper gets Knight a 5? What were you doing for the other 40 mins?! He changed the game, created so much, had a header saved and won the penalty (which was absolutely not a dive). Talk about Kinkygerbil being biased ...

Knight tried hard but his job is to score goals. He isn't doing it at this level.
There were rebounds to be had in the penalty area. These are bread and butter for strikers.
Knights positioning sometimes is woeful. (not talking about today)

Yes he made a difference when he came on but that was negated soon after when Wise brought himself on.

Knight's job is to make the most of his ability for the team, but it may be that at this level, the result of that is to be a creative, rather than goalscoring, force. The rebounds were there for everyone, not just Knight! He was awesome again, setting up Virgo and Claridge - he was clearly the pick of the strikers. How does Wise stifling our midfield mark down Leon?

Virgo was the most disappointing performer - how he merits a 6, I know not! He was wholly ineffective, and only contributed when Leon came on.

Quite agree.

Cullip 8 MOTM, excellent, took Dichio out of the game

particularly impressive was the needless foul that he gave away for the quick free-kick that led to the first goal......

Markers are always going to foul opponents occasionally if they are aiming to dominate them, that's part of the stuff of battle, but I notice you didn't argue with my overall assessment of the Cullip/Dichio contest.

Still, nice scapegoating angle on the goal, bit more refreshing than the usual blame Harding stuff.

I'm not too sure who was to blame for the first goal but I'd be looking at those players who didn't get back into position quick enough and left a huge amount of space for Alan Dunne to exploit and pick off his pass to Dobie.

knight won more in the air than virgo,
knights passing was better than virgo
knights movement off the ball was better than virgo
firsts first touch was like one of a retard
and when he had the chance to put claridge through on goal in the first half he shoot from 35 yards instead

what a game he had

I would agree that Cullip put in a good performance against Dichio and that it is the nature of the game that markers will foul, its just that Cullips tendency to give away fairly cheap fouls is liable to cost us at this level.

Knight and Oatway our best players but Knight does have to change his technique. However, he needs to start our next game, we looked much better with him on the pitch.
