I have a pair of play 1s in my lounge, really pleased with them.
I reckon an echo would probably do the job in a bedroom or a small kitchen, and they are less than half the price of Sonos.
They integrate quite well so you can mix it up.
I haven’t checked but would imagine the app subscription works with laptop, (any OS) and all the usual Android or IOS devices. After that there are multiple ways to get it on your TV, hdmi cable for laptop, tv stick/Apple TV/native Tv mirroring etc..
