Good thread. I'm heading over in November and hoping to get to the Newcastle match. I hope they keep the test rule.

My Canadian vaccination record isn't even accepted at the UK border yet. Thankfully we're on the green list now though (if that changes, I'm screwed for getting to the Newcastle match).

I agree. The EU recognise the NHS passport without any hassle.

And the UK recognize the EU passport at the UK border. Doesn’t make sense that it can’t be used at the AMEX.

I'm tentatively thinking about a trip to the UK for the second half of October (would be my first visit since April 2019) and would, of course, hope to make it to the Amex.

Double-jabbed with the Pfizer shot here in the US.

Good thread HT.

I know we don’t want the Fans Forum taken over by COVID issues but this would be a valid query in my book

I did think about this actually. As the club will take some, or all, their lead from the government I guess they can’t say too much until the government have laid down their plans. But, they could give us reassurance they at least acknowledge our situation. Anyone know how to submit a question?

Currently willing and it would seem able to go the LFT route but should that be stopped or become more complicated, I'll be locked out.

My twice a year average + big game charley revenue isn't likely to be missed but add everyone similar together and it can't be that small.

Outside the clubs remit of coutse, but you can get a valid EU ECDC by scanning an NHS / NHS Scotland / HSCNI vaccine record in to the Irish application but it appears there's no equivalent in return!

Exactly so thankfully. I am in Ireland much of the time these days and fly from Dublin with my NHS double jab proof. Accepted in pubs/restaurants here too. Common sense

Mine has been accepted at the reception, in France, and various cafes/restaurants.

My gut feeling is they will continue with allowing a negative test. Otherwise, apart from overseas supporters, it will discriminate against those who are genuinely unable to have the vaccine. That doesn’t seem fair to me.

HT, From an earlier thread you already know that I am in the same situation as you. I am also aware of several more Albion fans in Ireland who attend a few games a year.

The Albion recently set up a program to recognise Albion supporter organisations outside the UK. The Irish Seagulls group has participated in this. I don't really have the details but I imagine that the Club have the means to communicate with many overseas supporters.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic but I would be very surprised if folks with the EU certificate would be barred from attending games. It would simply be necessary to train security staff of the alternate documentation.

Point of order, have any of you overseas fans stopped for a moment to consider your carbon footprint?
I would imagine Greta would have a meltdown if she found out..

Point of order - that has nothing to do with this thread. Please stay off it.

Thanks. I have emailed a question:

The government recognizes the EU wide Covid Passport at the border. Given we can access the UK with this document why can’t we currently access the AMEX? And can the club give any assurances that overseas season ticket holders will still be able to visit the AMEX using a LFT when the new rules apply.

Regards.

Hope your question is asked H T
I see that quite rightly they do not guarantee to ask every question but hope that in time they would reflect on those that get passed over especially something like this . It does help to put into perspective any problems us locals have in getting to matches !
Personally would like to thank overseas fans for their support and contributions .UTA !

Thank you. That is so pleasant of you to say so.

I,m now in my 57th year of watching the Albion. How the time flies....! So far, following not being able to get back to the UK for 19 months due to the pandemic I have managed to see the Getafe game, Watford and Everton games at the Amex. What a wonderful boost that has been for me.

I would be absolutely distraught if my lifetime addiction to the Albion was halted due to something as simple as the Albion being unable to accept my two Pfizer jabs that were given to me in France.

UTA...!!!

Great thread, great question HT. As a fellow seagull in Germany I've really missed the AMEX for the past 18 months. I imagine there are lots of others in the same situation.

Good luck mate. Hopefully those sorting through the questions will prioritise this over the usual fluff that they put forward.

That reminds me, must send in my question about the lack of sausage rolls in the WSU:lolol:
