Seeking to monetize a previously free service is clearly wrong plus sets a terrible precedent for NSC and the less said about the idea of offering money to modertors for 'extra' services the better ...

You'll just have to stay ignorant then. I can't imagine that'll bother you much.

And into the pit

I can't be bothered to read through this entire thread but I assume it's mainly the usual suspects defending cancel culture while pretending it doesn't exist ... [emoji6]
On your marks

I see the usual suspects have reverted to nasty insults on this thread.

Indeed, the tolerant left.
Good news is, at least they’re not racially abusing the Home Secretary.
Always the tolerant left that resort to nastiness.

Go :bigwave:

Regardless of the actual subject of the thread :dunce:

That is why the Tories are known as the nasty party.
Never heard that attached to The Labour Party, even with a hard left leader.
Priti Patel could be any colour of the rainbow as far as I'm concerned and I would still abuse her because she is a nasty, bullying, useless Home Secretary.
Johnson could not be bothered to visit Plymouth after the shootings as any other PM would have done from any party, instead he sent down Patel, 10 minutes in front of the cameras, not a word to the people of Keyham or those directly affected, back in the car and off.
2 weeks later Johnson comes down to the South West for another holiday.
Never came anywhere near Plymouth.
Yep, you are correct, it's always the nasty left.

Indeed, she is useless, but there is absolutely no need to racially abuse her.

You don't bother to read anything before you form your opinion, do you? Is that why you voted leave?

Worthing
I would have thought any council owned venue now has to be careful who they put on or the Equality an Human Right's Commission might take an interest.

Unfortunately it seems these days there are a fair few people who conflate people disagreeing with someone or not liking what they're saying as "cancelling" or "censorship", when in reality they're either challenging what they say to spark a debate or not providing a platform for views they disagree with because there is no requirement for them to do so. There's no more reason why this theatre "should" put on RCB than there is a reason why the Daily Mail should be forced to carry opinion pieces by Jeremy Corbyn, it's their choice.

There are concerted efforts from groups of full-time complainers/cancellers/protestors/SJWs who go from target to target on Twitter attempting to "cancel" people they don't like. They trawl through their entire history hoping to find something to "cancel" them with.

I have seen this in action.

Or maybe the council thought that the person complaining was correct and a fat old white bloke going onstage in their town and calling black people the N word isn’t really where it’s at in 2021.

The fact that he’s only playing 12 other dates on his tour indicate that he’s not very popular. But anyway, contrary to popular demand, here are the gigs for those upset he’s not playing Sheffield.

The Albert Hall, capacity 5900? Very impressive.

Oh, it's the Albert Halls in Bolton, capacity 673 (580 still available).

I've found the answer to whether Sheffield was sold out. It appears not.

"300 ticket holders had been refunded for the event which was due to take place in the 2,373-capacity Oval Hall, the council said."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-58463658

Still, I suspect all 24,000 people who signed the petition will be moving heaven and earth to get a ticket for the other, as yet uncancelled, dates, so Royston Vasey should be laughing all the way to the shop.
