Does anyone really believe there is any substance to this Lamptey to Spurs nonsence?

You think Daniel Levy is going to sign off on spending anything like 40 million on a player who only managed 12 games last season and has just recovered from an operation, a player that nobody knows if he is going to have recurring hamstring problems?

There is a reason Daniel Levy is known as being a bit of a tight arse, it's that he IS a bit of a tight arse. He has spent big in the past, but he is far from Stupid. I dont think he would sanction half that fee on Lamptey at the moment, not until Lamptey has proved he can last a lot more than 12 games without breaking down.

Therefore i think this whole story is, as i said at the start, nonsence.

Agreed. Any stories related to Lamptey I see as pure fiction.

We (let alone other clubs) don't even know if his pace has been affected by his injury, and he's barely played in the PL anyway. Makes no sense.

Plus his contract runs until 2025.

I usually enjoy transfer rumours but nowadays 95% of it is made up and sourced from a tweet made by an 11yr old Palace fan...

Correct.

I don’t think most here are too concerned about Lamptey? A couple of posts I see. Ben and Biss are the more realistic high profile outgoings this window.

With all the transfer rumours flying about and I start to worry we're going to end up weaker I remember what TB said not so long ago. "The majority of this squad will still be here next season" - I take that as one or two stars will go, the rest will be staying for another season.

You’re best off purely checking the official BHA site over the summer, don’t look on here, don’t look on the BBC football pages, ignore all the social media crap because 99% of it causes needless fretting, much of it fuelled by vagabond on here who trawls the web 24/7 looking for stuff to slap up on NSC.

You miserable old git. Like the links I post from journalists, broadsheets, Naylor, Brian and club announcements?

If my posts upset you simply put me on ignore.

Quite an easy solution [emoji112]

That is a good thing to remember, also that getting interest in our players (and our manager) is actually a really good thing. It shows that we as a club are doing something right.

The main thing that worries me is Lamptey’s injury. On the basis that his speed is his greatest asset, if his injury is either long term or he is susceptible to injury because of the way he plays, then it may be a problem and we should move him on and make some money. We haven’t really missed him in terms of results, although he is exciting to watch. We have replacements who have fulfilled the role. I think he is expendable.

I dunno. That sort of cliche (it's good our team keeps getting disrupted and we have to find replacements and coach them into fitting with the team because...) always feels to me to be equivalent to 'it's good we're out of the cup, we can focus on the league now!'

The boy is showboating on the club Twitter feed. First day of training.
Great to see.

Indeed.

Also brilliant that he’ll not be getting anywhere near the England squad as he is just too attacking for Southgate to select along with about 6 other right-backs from top EPL sides that will always be picked ahead of him because of who they play for.(James, Justin, Wan-Bissaka, Walker, TAA & Trippier).

Less chance of likely injury, racist abuse and psychological damage by not playing for England as well as World Cup/Euro hang-overs.
