‘ Police want the power to ban football fans who take cocaine at matches, over concerns that the drug could be driving disorder and violence.

Some England supporters were filmed openly snorting white powder at Wembley and elsewhere in London during the Euro 2020 final, which saw large numbers of ticketless people force their way into the stadium.’

I’ve never seen this at the Albion. Have seen a few people on NSC boasting about it though.

Ban drunks as well.

They already can:

‘ The law allows bans to be imposed if people have been convicted of specific offences and the move would prevent violence or disorder.

Relevant offences include the “possession of alcohol or being drunk while entering/trying to enter a ground”, but there is no equivalent provision for drugs.’

I might be missing the point by a mile, but isn't coke sort of, kinda, legally banned already?

Surely all the old bill have to do is win the war on drugs. Any day now I'm told.

I don’t think a lot of the older generation realise just how common cocaine is nowadays. I can safely say that it’s rampant in youth culture and that includes the north stand at Brighton games. Ridiculously easy to get hold of now and completely rampant in a lot of situations.

I think after tests in the 1901 restrooms among other things Cocaine was found on some of cubicles, can’t remember when maybe a couple of years ago!

Isn't cocaine a category A drug and the Police have wide powers to arrest those in possession. sharing or dealing without a need to link to a football banning oder.

But why no banning order for music festivals or gigs.

Just smacks of bandwagon after Johnson said he wants football banning orders for racists.

Seen it far too often at away games. On trains, in queues, off the seats. Even saw a few fans at Leeds away in the Championship where they were doing it off their keys at the back of the stand at Elland Road. Never done it myself but seems rife with football fans now.

I'm presuming this will not apply to corporate hospitality areas.
