Speed limits... if the driver is good, I couldnt care if they go over the limit. Laws should be seen as nothing more than recommendations.

Odd that he was driving around in the middle of the night though in the middle of the seasons. Maybe it was during international breaks?

Unfortunately people can’t be trusted. And who judges if the driver is good? Some bellend who’s just downed a few bitters may think he’s the best driver in the world. All fun and games until someone in your family is killed.

Maybe your humour was lost in translation, but a silly post this time Swanny.

It depends on how you feel about them. A lot of laws are made by the people in power to control or suppress people with no power. Thats why they should just be seen as recommendations. Follow the ones you find sensible, ignore the others.

Some of your stuff can be quite funny, and you clearly have good football knowledge, but occasionally you post stuff like this and show yourself up to be a bit of an immature, ideological twerp...

I suspect you are :fishing:
But if your pizza delivery driver was knocked over outside a hospital in Sweden, just before your delivery, I'm sure you'd be pissed off

Laws are made by lawmakers at the behest of governments. Governments are elected by adults. It appears that too few people voted the way that would suit your preferences. Tough luck. Pretending there are no laws because you don't like them is just silliness

The best way to summarise any history book is "laws, governments and adults are all shite".

Pretending you need to follow laws just because they exist is just as silly. Speed limits are useful and good recommendations (or laws as you call it), but there's plenty of examples of shite laws that people would be better off ignoring.

You can download a free app which tells you beforehand when you are approaching a speed camera, its laziness getting caught speeding by cameras these days. Anyway that’s his issue and I don’t really care either way.

As a former driver who used speed limits as 'advisory' and came from an age when drink driving was only a social taboo if you did some damage, I fully support the tight laws we have now.

The amount of deaths on the roads in the UK has drastically reduced over the years. Folk should obey the law. It's not there for control, it's there for safety.

It may be different in your place where a fast overnight drive will only kill yourself or an flat footed Elk.

You could take that shovel, dig up some boring lawn in some public park and plant some nice flowers. If it was legal that is.

I could do it any day however, because the law isnt the law in my world.

Static cameras are of course detectable. My car always alerts me to them. The problem is the mobile police camera van that gets randomly parked to catch unsuspecting drivers, or worse, the pedestrian policeman with a hand held speed camera. Not sure the latter are legal anymore, but I was done by the former a few weeks ago. Luckily I have been on zero ppints for 4+ years so it will be another chance to enjoy an advanced driver course.

Wilfully breaking speed limits, most certainly isn't one of them. :nono:

Or, alternatively, you could just stick to the speed limit in the first place and not worry about possibly getting caught

That used to be my theory until I had to do a speed aware course for doing 34 in a 30, I have two different vehicles and on both according to satellite speed indicators both speedometers aren’t accurate. I now drop to 25 through the camera just to make sure.

I can vouch first hand that he drives like a *****. I was on the A27 near Holmbush with my partner and 6 month old son in the car, someone in a black G wagon doing about 80 miles an hour came past us swerving over the white line into our lane several times, hood up and looking at their phone! Caught up with him at the lights at Sussex pad and recognised him. Great footballer but drives like a ****.
