“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

Nothing in what I have said suggests anything of the sort. I have enjoyed the football since Potter was appointed. I had a few weeks of wavering pre Christmas when the tempo reduced significantly and I couldn’t see anything being done about it. Before that and since I have been loving it. I have always supported the team and especially when players have had a difficult time. My gripes have never been about the manager just about his irritating enterage on NSC.

I don’t mind being called one of an irritating entourage but I strongly object to being called a member of an irritating enterage. That sucks

I can understand why Vagabond winds people up on here. He’s obviously quite young and the annoying unwavering optimism and self assurance which come with being a teenager on the Internet is painful to read when you’re over the age of 21. However when I was a teenager I got banned from here because me and my mates thought it would be funny to post a photo of one of our Brighton supporting mates saying he was a pedo so I can’t judge him too harshly.

Then again he did accuse me of being a Leeds fan so maybe he can go f*ck himself actually. (This bit isn’t to be taken seriously)

I just checked again and it’s 95 likes currently. So clearly it’s something a lot of folk here agree with.

What is your target for this month/year?

You don't need to be sanctimonious and shouldn't feel the need to validate your opinions quoting everyone that shares your point of view to contribute vagabond.

It's not a competition, you win no prizes.

Jurgen Pep and Jose , three of the best managers in Europe have recently praised our football style and ability , what`s not to shout about . It`s because that type of quality has been recognized and appreciated by the best there is , that Richard`s like Danny Mills and and his mates should be called out . If the best in the business recognize our progress under GP then so should the mouthy muppets that lined up to take a pop . :bhasign:

What? I was all set to send them this prize hamper and celebratory seagull-handled toilet brush. Now what am I meant to do with it?

It's only Feb 5th so hold your horses. Bozza won't announce who has won NSC for February for a few more weeks yet. Plenty of time for everybody but there are prizes for all.

We're all winners anyway, vagabond included.

Apart from that pub team up the road...

On topic the general sentiment in the press does seem to have shifted. Let's hope we can continue to command the recognition we deserve.

Factually incorrect again. Your bouncing of the thread was reported. You're annoying people. I think a polite request to stop is far preferable to infracting you isn't it?

Unless John Barnes or Danny Mills is complaining, I don't understand the issue here?

Clearly the Op has the ability to irritate, I wouldn't dispute that - but this thread is quite an enjoyable read and a tongue in cheek up yours at certain football pundits.

Apologies if I have missed the nuances here, but some of the people taking offence here maybe need to take a look at themselves. Angry emphatic statements linger online for a long time.

Congratulations on 95 likes.

Edit that’s a good conversion rate on circa 30 thousand views.

Ffs what has NSC become when likes are being used as validation. Some other **** on here was using the fact he had 7 (SEVEN) thumbs up as part of an argument to prove he was right the other day. Embarrassing.

:). Not you mate ! I’ve always enjoyed your contributions. I’m going to have to look up ‘enterage’ now to understand the insult I just used

Or perhaps learn to engage with people you disagree with without resorting personal attacks and insults. Anyone has any doubt of this statement please look at this posters “contributions” here to what has been an otherwise good thread.

Another mature response may possibly be “I don’t like that Vagabond, his ideas irritate me, so I’ll just move on to the next thread. Plenty of them”.

Just a thought.

Thank you (I guess? [emoji1]).

You haven’t missed many nuances to be honest. Certain individuals “contributions” to this topic speak for themselves, just insults, no desire to engage on topic. I fully agree with your assessment.

On a positive note this has been marvellous for improving my ignore list.

The mods have really worked themselves up today.

Shown, not worked.

Throughout all the threads I read (a lot more than I post on), one thing is clear. This particular mod seems to be the most childish argumentative mod on there. Must be Bozza's nephew or have some relation to him... You are a mod and are in the public eye of the forum.. get over yourself

[emoji120] I won’t comment further but thank you for the support.

Not just any old PL games are they? Spurs at home and Liverpool away. And they weren't just scrappy one nil wins either. We were worthy winners in both matches, limiting them to barely any chances. Not to mention our style of play and the quality of the goals. Do you really think we'd of gone to Liverpool and had that many shots on goal under CH? We'd of been lucky if we had one. The pundits basically said the club couldn't dream bigger. How wrong they were. They owe us an apology for sure.

Exactly. Well said.

I don’t dislike you Vagabond. I don’t know you. I’m sure you are a very pleasant chap in real life. I have simply become irritated by your one trick pony approach to many threads I open. When you started doing it on match day threads I became particularly irritated as real match days are gone and all we have is the internet and tv. Live football is a big loss in my life and I hate the divisiveness of Potter in/Potter out and all the self justification that goes with it. I would simply ask that you tone down the campaigning and the searching out of dissenters to the one true faith. I agree with the substance of what you say but not the tone or the relentlessness of it. I haven’t put you on ignore, you have an opinion worth listening to. Your style simply presents a challenge to my irritability threshold !!

Well, I think you have.

There is a long held tradition of shithousery on NSC with regard to being proved right in an argument. That includes, to a degree, the bouncing of posts, replied to old quotes etc. But it is to a degree. Starting an "olive branch" thread that wasn't, bouncing this and spamming every related thread with post after post after post is intensely irritating and an attempt to dominate the conversation with a single agenda.

For all that a mild and polite in thread warning was issued. Nothing more.

Nevertheless, we are still only just over halfway in the season. This thread will look very silly indeed if we somehow manage to get relegated from here (even I think we will not, nevertheless the shithousery being indulged in also comes with a good deal of pre-timing and presumption).

Very noble of you. To be frank it sounds like you don’t agree with my opinions old boy. Which you’re completely entitled to, but you shouldn’t hold a grudge and throw moderator weight around as a result. I politely said to you in the other thread could we please drop grudges. I was willing to.

Now. As you’ve infracted me with a public warning, are you also going to issue warnings to individuals making insults and personal attacks as well then?

Or is that completely ok in Guinness Boy kingdom?
