Ben White Yellow Card in open play: White gets ball, kicks Liverpool player = free kick and yellow

Danny Welbeck in penalty area: Welbeck gets ball, gets kicked by Liverpool player = penalty

Whether you agree or not as to whether it was a pen - the laws have to be applied consistently......

What? White won the ball and Jota steamed into him. Welbeck nicks the ball and Robertson kicks him.

It was a pen by the letter of the law, just like Solly's wasnt.

I didn't think their was anything wrong with robertsons 'tackle' on Welbeck, so if I'm colonel klink I wouldn't be happy with var.

I don’t think White kicked him. Liverpool player ran in to White and unfairly knocked him flying

That is slightly tongue in cheek, but it did look as if White just stood his ground.
