Conspiracy Theorists! I do hope you're all remembering the golden rules. Firstly keep it vague. it's awfully hard to challenge a snide insinuation. Don't forget your Facebook memes, the more vague and misleading the better! Remember, always answer a difficult question with a question. And, if all else fails, there's always whataboutery or the sympathy card.

Remember these simple rules and you too can look like an utter cocktard and, if you're lucky, you screw over some vulnerable people as you go!

Happy conspiracying.

Alongside which you posted "This is what is in most flu vaccinations. Whom on earth would willingly put this in their body?"

Inferring that it would be dangerous to get a flu vaccine because of those ingredients. It is categorically not, as proved by scientific studies, but your post could lead people to believe that it is.

If you want to make claims that something like a vaccine (which is aimed at saving lives) is dangerous, you should be able to back it up with evidence. In this case, the evidence would need to be that the ingredients listed, in the concentrations present in the vaccine, are dangerous.

Apologies you’re right I let my bias come into it and probably shouldn’t have.

I do wonder whether those on here who put forward their 'odd' views have always been deluded and Covid has increased their delusions, or were they really that deluded before Covid.
Anyway, I am having my flu jab this afternoon.

This is a topic I've been interested in, particularly this year and have sometimes toyed with starting a thread, but just know it's going to be Bigot Pit bound.

Ultimately this is a (football) bulletin owned by Bozza. If he doesn't want something posted on here it won't be but you are quite welcome to start your own bulletin board and post exactly what you like.

As for inoculations I am a 46 year old man who its fairly healthy (if a bit overweight). It is quite possible I had Covid-19 earlier in the year while working in London before lockdown. If I haven't already and did get it in all probability I would be ill for a week then more or less ok after that.

Similarly I had a flu jab earlier this week. Now it is scientific fact the flu jabs vary in effectiveness from year to year as the WHO have to take an educated guess as to what to put in them and sometimes don't see a strain coming. In fact last time I had flu I had actually has a jab that year. None the less even that year it did block something like a third of all flues.

Granted I am self employed so a week off work with flu is far from ideal but in even so the individual argument for me getting a vaccine is borderline. However, if I wish to keep seeing elderly relatives or not pass it on to anyone I bump into at Tesco then it is my public duty to get it done.

Having the vaccine or not isn't an individual decision exclusively based on your health. Also antivaccers know in their heart of hearts that when vaccine coverage reaches a certain level they are ok anywhere as essentially the heard is immune and they can enjoy all the benefits without having to make any effort, e.g. get a free ride.

The problem is if enough people are swayed by the antivac argument we might not reach this level. I stop short of compulsory vaccinations but i can't see how someone can continue to have a career in the health or care sector without it and the likes of Brighton and Hove Albion have a right to ask proof of having it before letting you back in the ground,

Really? I think we established all those things are there in trace amounts so we’ll have to agree to disagree on that one.

no, there's dicussion that some might be present, while some not present. Thimerosal, wi-38, mcr-5 are not used in flu vaccines. the picture is list of things that may or may not have been used in the in production of any vaccine in the past 60 years. most are foods ffs.

Maybe you can separate trains into different carriages, "immune" and "still likely to get it" instead of first and second class, so that everyone can arrive awesome.

We could have an unvaccinated stand at the Amex with giant perspex covers all round it where they have to wait for everyone else to leave before going?

Because denying covid stuff has worked out SO well for invincible selfish c*nts in the NE/NW. Except that the wise guys will very shortly be under curfew, same as the decent people. If nothing else, it'll make the muppets more visible

But surely those who are constantly going on about them and bickering with them night and day are giving them more voice than anything else? You're all to blame really, especially when you're waking up, avoiding breakfast then digging straight back into them.

It's like a love, hate relationship with a bit of addiction sprinkled on top. One big family.

Why are the left wing so addicted to conspiracy theorists? They wake up and literally get straight back on them :lolol:

Left wing? :lolol:

That's quite a funny post when between you and Dan you're responsible for 40 of the 154 posts on this thread. That's over a quarter of them.

Typical CT bullies. Gang up on posts and then play the victim card when your shit gets called out for what it is.

.. and other threads on the same subject. Free speech and opinions are all well and good until it disagrees with the agenda.

Stuff presented by the usual suspects as fact are often the views of a qualified individual (but there are multitudes of conflicting views from qualified individuals) and/or sweeping generalisations ... but they are gospel and dare anyone to suggest otherwise

Sad really

Relax! I wasn't including you Guinness Boy in this. You only started getting back into them at around 8am this morning. Of course you would've had breakfast first. Besides, you're not always on every single conspiracy thread claiming to have no interest. That's not like you

A proportion of people who get it die. If you increase the number of people who get it, the number of people who die also increases proportional to the incease in infections. I didn't say that everyone who died in lockdown died of Covid, did I? Some people who tested positive went on to die for other reasons. But many people who tested positive and died, died of the disease.

There is fear, the question is, is it rational to be afraid? The disease can kill, it can kill the elderly, it can also kill the young and healthy. So yes, for yourself or for those that you love, a degree of fear (I would say concern) is justified.

But there are degrees of fear in may things. Yes young people have died of Covid - but the number is tiny and nothing like enough to justify current measures. None of us know how many people have actually died directly as a result of Covid either. I'm not saying this isn't nasty - it is, but it is also being taken out of proportion by a heavily one-sided information flow.

Is the fear that if you don't observe the guidelines you'll catch Covid and die? Because if that's the case, there are many other things which you should be afraid of as well and which don't involve sticking to some of the inconsistent and irrational guidelines this government is imposing on us.

Why are they muppets?

Because they haven't done what the Government has told them to do and now loads of people are dying?

Saying that it's being being taken out of proportion does imply that you do know that the number is less than reported. We don't know that.

Young people are less at risk sure, but they are also not the only people who matter, and they are at some risk. We also don't understand the factors involved in that risk, so if you are young and healthy and you get it, it's a lottery how you will fare with it.

The issue is also not just about an individuals personal risk. That is the nature of infectious disease. You risk your own health and other people's.

Also, as was pointed out at the time of the original measures, the risk is amplified depending on infection rates. There is a "bracket" of people who would get sick and become hospitalized if they got infected, but would also recover. If the health service was to become overwhelmed then that can change a "would have recovered" situtation into a death, for resource and logistical reasons.

I know people hate strict government controls, nobody hates that kind of thing more than me, and I am always conscious of risks to personal liberty. This is a bad situation. With strict measures it's a bad situation. WIthout measures would be a bad situation, just a different kind of one. A lot of what I hear from people who resent and dismiss the measures being taken is presented as though we could avoid these measures and everything would be fine. It wouldn't.

I think the whole reason people feel frustrated is because the measures have worked to the point of making the risk much smaller. Smaller risks makes it feel like we don't need the measures. But of course without the measures the risk increases again.

I hate this as much as anyone, I want it to be over. But it won't be over (or better) if everyone just goes back to normal. It will be extended and repeated until we stop the spread more thoroughly. It comes at a cost, I know. But the alternative comes at a cost too. We just have to decide which cost we are willing to bare.

I can't help but feel, at least for now, that if the price is convenience or human life, I'll pay with convenience. Hopefully not for too much longer, I'm sure we can all agree about that.
