Like the way March stood up to James when they had a clash...

With the ball he has the ability to become one of the best players in the team, just needs to drop the choir boy characteristics and show a bit of steal. Much better today but he can't take a back step or we may not see much of him.

What are you questioning here? That we need a striker or that Dunk is a central defender?

Well what l'm really questioning overall, is how anyone can make any kind of assumption based on just 90 minutes of meaningless football, played when none of the players are totally match fit. Let's see how these players perform after half a dozen games of competitive football, in games where results matter, before we start making any assertions.

But yes, as you mention it, I think we have known since last season, that we need a more consistent goal scorer, and that Lewis is best in the middle of a defensive three.

Should he be given a real go at LWB? He's always done okay there and he played well today. Maybe he needs a manager to back him in one position.

Molumby looked good, Lallana doesn't look fit at this moment in time but I'm sure he'll improve, Veltman looked ok, but on today's evidence the NEED for another option up front is glaringly obvious. As others have commented a decent forward addition (if one can be found) could be the difference between another bottom six struggle and mid table. Hope Walton's injury is not as bad as it looked.

Too many positives to list.

- Need to ask more questions in final third (ie. get the right Glenn replacement in)
- Seems harsh to say based on his injury, but Walton's career probably lies elsewhere as he doesn't tick any of the boxes for how we want to play. May need to sign a keeper.
- I seem to be in a minority on Molumby, think he either needs to be introduced slowly and for the right games, or another loan spell before ready.
- Bissouma may be a bit too good for us this season, and could be our first forced sale since promotion.
- Lallana needs to get up to speed fast, looked one step behind the rest of the team. Quality is there.
- We have a bunch of fans who are incredibly harsh on our very own Solly March and don't seem to want to give him any credit.
- Maupay needs to take a prolonged break from penalties.

This. on every point

Bissouma does look like he's gone up a level since the new year.

I wrote this in the other thread, and feel bad repeating it due to the injury but... Walton really doesn’t look up to it as a Potterball GK.

It might be best for both parties if he looked to continue his career elsewhere once he heals up.

Agree, don't like to knock players when they are down, but don't think Walton is a Premier League number 1... Too tall ???

This match underlines our need for a striker and a marauding left wing back.

We look a class outfit when we knock the ball about, but still a relegation- fighting outfit when it comes to the final third. Lamptey and set pieces are still are the most likely sources of goals.

Spot on. LWB and striker and I would be very happy.

The passages of play from keeper to midfield looked a lot sharper without Propper and Stephen's as the two midfielders receiving the ball , not slagging either of them off but it was simply plain to see the Bissouma/ Alzate pairing coped better .

Worthing
Veltman looks an instant and significant upgrade on Montoya
That kid on loan from Leeds looks very assured
Bissouma and Alzate together in midfield, with Lallana (not match fit unsurprisingly but enough glimpses of class to be positive) ‘directing’, will be awesome once settled
Lamptey has a jet-pack I think.....**** me he’s rapid
Maupay shouldn’t be allowed near a penalty
March had a damn good game, but a few infuriating moments as always when he stops and turns backwards when in space instead of going forward

All of this.
Did highlight the need for a Murray replacement.

All very pretty little final product, but goodness it was good to be back.

Brighton
That Lampty excites me every time he is on the ball
That White can hold his own
That Webster has really settled
That AJ may have a future
That Trossard still needs to relax a little
That March still has to believe in himself and attack space faster
That Walton is so unlucky
That Ryan really is our Number 1
That Lallana will be a great influence if he can stay fit
That Mollomby looks promising
That Alexis needs to be let loose
That we can play well
That we can all watch live football
And other stuff.

If they are harsh on Solly March and he did ok, but is inconsistent, you certainly are on Molumby he looks just the player we need in that role. He makes Propper look like a Donkey. Seems you don't think he is ready, but he didn't give the ball away once and looks more than ready to me.
