Deaths in the UK have increased by 761.
Still plateauing but no sign of any downwards slide yet.

Everone is bored, I have been off work since March the 9th, went to Waitrose last Friday it was and is stil the most exciting thing I have done in 8 weeks ! and now hearing that I cant even listen to some Cricket, I am actually losing the will to do anything except getting drunk.
It is undoubtedly going down and has been for some time. Not rapidly but it's going down. To say there is no sign of any downward slide is a bit disingenuous when there is every sign of one.
There was a "spike" in Wales as they've reported a lot of historic deaths today. Which is the problem with this method of not reporting actual date of death.

Fair enough, but to be disingenuous would be a deliberate act and it wasn't. I want the figures down and wouldn't lie about them.

The other figure I believe is because Wales, due to some processing issues, reported around 80-100 unreported deaths from a few weeks ago.

As I understand it, the graph from the NHS shows deaths by the day they occurred. The daily figures from the Department for Health are for deaths recorded in the 24 hours up to 5pm on the previous day but doesn't mean those deaths have all happened in the last 24 hours due to delays in reporting.
This does means the figures on the NHS graph for each day (especially the most recent days) will be very likely to go up.

I think if you ignore the last 3/4 days due to reporting lag, there is a definite and constant, if only gentle, downward trend
The thing I find a little strange is that these are hospital deaths and they still appear to be adding deaths from over a month ago (the small orange bits on 11th, 18th and 19th March ). Now I appreciate these are only very small numbers but I would have expected hospitals to report more quickly
The vast majority of the figures released each day (day 0) relate to deaths that occurred in days -2 and -3, with some going back over a month. The peak has steadily been showing as the 8th April for a while now.
You have up to 14 days to register a death if there's a medical certificate involved - don't know if that's something to do with it?

I think you've just heard the reason 100,000 tests a day won't be done by the end of the month.
