That is shocking news

Brian and I got to know each other many years ago when he was involved with the move from the goldstone and a possible move to north shoreham. We became friends and when I was doing the radio with harty, he very often phoned me afterwards for a chat about the show and the callers. He also knew my wife’s grandma who also ran pubs in Kemp Town and Hannover.

I loved his postings on here and also the reactions to what he had to say. He was an Albion fan through and through and he loved the club immensely

Rest in peace mate.

A life lived long and very well.

Oh no...

My heart has sank. I never met the fella, but he was part of the furniture here and someone I had regular two-and-fros with. This has upset me greatly.

RIP, BG. You will be very much missed.

RIP BG. Never met him and rarely agreed with him but will miss him all the same. Who is going to post contrary opinions on almost every subject now?

I do hope St Peter puts him in a separate area to Steve Jobs!
Very sad news, condolences to you and to his family, he will be missed.

I think this might be the first time that I’ve felt genuinely sad when hearing that someone that I’ve never met has passed away. A real character on here and I’ll miss him. I don’t know how old he was but it seems he lived a long and full life. RIP BG.

RIP to a remarkable NSC legend, with an astounding ability to not take anything thrown at him personally.

This is such sad news. It's really hard to imagine not seeing his username pop up when scrolling through threads. Death is strange and really horrible. :nono:

Really sad news Arfur, thank you for letting us know.

I recognise the name now. He had a letter published in the Sports Argus many years ago that I replied to the following week.

RIP Brian, great NSC lad. Great Albion man.

BG was the opposite of dull.

Often profoundly entertaining, whether he was in his contrarian mode or his ‘how does that work’ frame of mind.

He was the most readable poster on NSC.

He clearly adored the football club and obviously had a huge impact on most people he met.

He had me in tears a number of times with some of his outrageous posts and threads but sadly, he has done the same to me tonight for a different emotion, sadness.

RIP

Me too. Floods. More upset than when I heard David Bowie had died, truth be told. And I actually met Bowie once.

I am guilty of taking the piss on more than one occasion but he's also had quite a few 'thumbs up' off of me, not that he would have given a tuppenny damn about either  :lolol:.

RIP BG.

This year really has been an absolute bummer in that regard already.

I will really miss his good humour and excellent contribution to this place. Rest well BG.
