Urban dictionary: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hippie crack

Hippie crack
This is the term for Nitrous Oxide, or laughing gas, used to get high. It is usually administered by taking the small metal capsules used in the old fashioned whip cream canisters and piercing the top with a 'cracker' (paraphenelia used for this exact purpose as no one making sundaes uses a cracker) and allowing all the gas to fill a large balloon. The balloon gas is then inhaled and held in until the user starts to feel a high from the gas. This high only lasts only lasts for a minute or less but leaves you wanting more- Hence the association with Crack. Other than killing braincells its fairly harmless (don't take this as gospel) so its more for lightweight hippies instead of serious drug addicts. In addition, its become very popular in deadhead type gatherings and is associated with Hippies in that way too.

Seems a fairly standard term for it thats banded about. So sorry to offend

Well if it’s in Urban Dictionary it must be true.

I’ve just submitted ‘Easy 10’ to Urban Dictonary.

“Someone who blindly believes anything he sees written in the Daily Mail especially if the story features somebody under the age of 30. Will double down when called out. Shakes fist at clouds on a regular basis.

Probably wears bootcut jeans & debates which set of Top Gear hosts were better when down the pub with fellow Easy Tens.”

Nothing wrong with going to a nightclub for a couple of drinks but the balloon thing is completely wrong, especially when we have so many young supporters.

I'm not even sure exactly what it is you "think" I blindly believe - I've already stated my opinion on this, in that this story is not a big deal, but was probably a bit unwise on the players part.

All I've done is used a commonly seen term for it, which seems to have sent some into a tailspin. I haven't even seen if this story is in the Mail or the Sun, much less read it and "BELIEVED EVERYTHING". But whatever.

*sigh*

As pointed out, its just a commonly used term for nitrous oxide. The fact it appears in The Sun, The Mail etc is neither here nor there, its hardly EXCLUSIVE to them and I very much doubt they "invented" it either. Neither did I at any point say its a massive danger.

Other than that - great post chap.

Maybe commonly used by people who read the Daily Mail & are old enough to have nostalgia for mullets.

As an actual young person™️ who has been to numerous festivals/events that were absolutely swarming with Nos (Festivals, Pride, Uni Parties, Lads holidays) I’m telling you the term ‘hippy crack’ is a complete load of bollocks and nobody has actually ever said it. In fact if it wasn’t for it being used in discussion with footballers I wouldn’t realise that’s what it referred to. Balloons, laughing gas, nos, whippits & chargers.

What you’re basically doing here is seeing weed referred to as “Satan’s lettuce” by someone and deciding that’s what it’s called.

Like I said. Whatever.

Sorry - "whatevs"

As 'MattBackHome' isn't listed on Urban Dictionary i though I'd try MBH. I wish I hadn't now:

MBH
Acronym for "My Balls Hurt". Is usually uttered upon receiving a difficult task or the victim of a miscellaneous hardship.

Can be used to show sympathy in the YBH, as in "your balls hurt."
Boss: "Pat, please rewrite that whole web site by tomorrow."
Pat: "MBH"

I get your point, but i expect giving a kid a pint of beer would do more harm to them than a balloon filled with Nos, for a start they probably wouldnt know what the **** to do and as such not suffer any effects.

We are at a level now, where I think we can expect a better level of professionalism from our players than to see such antics and dismiss it as "young lads letting off steam."

These guys are being paid eye-watering sums of money, for their physical abilities, and as such they should be treating their bodies with more respect and looking at top sportsmen, top athletes and seeing what they do to perform at that level. the game is not played by "lads" at the top level, with a Tuesday Night Drinking Club, they should be setting their sights higher than that.

It's worth reading about the lifestyles of those who get to the top of their sport and stay there. Read about how Federer, Djokovic, CR7, and others prepare. I think I read somewhere about Djokovic winning whatever grand slam it was that meant he joined the elusive club of players who have won them all. He celebrated with a square of dark chocolate. Yes, it's a massive sacrifice to get to the top and stay there, but it's a long way back from that if you are "doing balloons" on a night out, like some chavvy teenager who used to frequent the dodgy nightclub down the road from where I worked in Greenwich.

Grow up, and be more professional.

Couldn't have put it better... If they were 22 points clear at the top of the Premier League I may think otherwise and let it slide. However, they're in a relegation scrap and need to be at their absolute peak on the field. I can't see how this will improve their physical fitness, or mental wellbeing..

Bunch of knobheads. I am disappointed.

With 10 days until their next game?

Can I ask, If you Got pissed tonight, do you reckon you will be recovered by the 22nd Feb?

Imagine how some absolute loons on here would react if they found out a lot of players are out on Saturday nights in town?

Imagine what players got up to before the advent of social media and I'd say you have to be a melting snowflake to worry about this.

I don't think it's acceptable myself, I don't think it's professional and I don't think it helps our clubs image.

Brighton factually.....
Is that what your boss would say if you were caught on film in the same way and the main story was your link to the company?

To be honest, he would probably buy them for us all, and maybe I am lucky in I have a boss who thinks there are bigger problems in the world, than someone having a laugh in their free time.

I know I am good at my job, polite, and provide a good service and dedication while at work and that is all that matters.

surely that is all that matters.

relax, we get one life, and far too many people are worried about nothing.....

My favourite is Gareth from the Office saying “wacky baccy”. They got the writing so spot on there. There is no possible way on earth that anyone who has ever used the term “wacky baccy” has ever actually smoked weed.

It’s not the boss you’re lucky to have but the company. Not many reputable companies are happy about seeing their employees engaging in ‘questionable’ activities being made public.
