[Albion] Will we be signing a DECENT striker on loan or permanent before the window closes?

Will we be signing a decent new striker by the time the window closes?

I'm happy with our 3

Just saying.

Connolly presently offers nothings except bluster, falling over and getting frustrated. Def one for the future but in the next 4 months, unless he suddenly finds form, he's a bit of a passenger.

Still boils down to the monumental gamble of whether Maupay can finish the season un-injured.

Just imagine he gets clattered in the next couple of weeks and is out. Would you still feel same?

I'm happy with the 3 we've got for this Saturday. I'm not happy with just an ageing Muzza (can he even do 90 mins?) And Connolly if Maupay is sidelined.

Does anyone else think that Naylor actually enjoys sharing the bad transfer news re a Striker? I have visions of him sat behind his PC, keyboard ready creaming himself with excitement.

I think Connelly offers and will offer way more than you give him credit for.

Those first 70 minutes against Palace were sublime in terms of possession & control, we beat them up good and proper.

But we just beat them up. Like a cowardly hooligan would do.

We should have knelt on their chest, drawn a blade and severed their arteries. We should have killed when we only injured.

Having not finished them off, we paid the price. We rolled over and they done us.

We have not signed any players who will solve this. No one who can stop us conceding when we score first. No one to properly compete with Maupay or offer something different (like Edouard would).

Therefore, we’re relying on luck. If we get lucky we’re capable of a top 10 place, but if injuries and VAR get us, we are down.

Don't forget the hands on head in disbelief that his strike which went straight at the keeper, did not go in.

Don't want to be tough on the fella, he's a kid with a huge weight of responsibility on his young shoulders. In 2-3 years we may have a top player on our hands. In the next 4 months when simply getting over the line is the target, I'm not sure he's going to offer enough in that pursuit.

Hope to be proved wrong of course.

Irrespective of the amount of good luck we think we're due, it most definitely won't be enough for top 10.

The best our luck can provide now is what's becoming our customary 4th from bottom.

Mr Bloom's plans for the future are no longer short to medium term.

Absolutely, he does more than score goals and he does create problems for defenders. The issue is, we don't have the killer instinct needed that when Connolly makes a run and pulls the defence out of sharp...no one is there to take advantage.

I'm a Connolly fan, he's young, inexperienced and has been thrown into one of the best leagues in the world. It's a consequence of all of this. However, it is the coaches' responsibility to get the best out of him and I don't think we've seen the best of him.

I think the lad just needs a goal to kick start him again. After scoring twice on his full debut then drawing blanks it must be playing on his mind.

Connolly will be fine here if we ever get a mobile lump up front he can bounce off, he's shown he has the raw talent to dump 50 million quid defenders on their arse.

What I do know is he's been playing with a niggle that's been hard to shift but he wants to play so the manager has trusted him being able to cope with the injury.

He's 19 let's not forget that, not all 19 year old are Rooney, we need to keep hold of this lad as I reckon he will mature into a top top striker in the Austin /Ings type role.

I would of loved Murray to be 24 and playing with Connolly but obviously that can't happen, we just need another Murray type striker to compliment Connolly and he will click big time.

At the moment we're pretty one dimensional up front with Maupay and Connolly, the manager knows that and by midnight tonight I'm hoping we address this as we all do, whether that happens or not, Connolly is a player we should be patient with as supporters.
