Who may or may not score 10 goals for the rest of the season to keep vile up.
Many people think on here that the easy answer to us staying up, is to spunk money on another striker. If only football management was that easy.

Villa’s new investment paying off already. Reina replaced their much maligned Nyland and made a brilliant save to deprive us at the NS end. Persistent fouler Drinkwater adding competitiveness to their CM which had been steam rollered. Now their bringing in proven strikers.

You’re forgetting about the loan market.

If we drop, the cost will be far greater than a loan fee and four months wages.

Broadcasting income will drop from £100m to £55m, then further still.

Murray is a striker in name only, which is why we have only had 2 all season.
The fact the Connolly is the other one is an absolute joke on the part of recruitment.

Without some genuine help for Maupay the club will, again, be playing fast and loose with relegation.

We've become so conditioned to have an appalling front line (and fantastic back line) we've completely lost sight of just how bad it is.

Some on here think we have a shit back line other than Dunk. Tony Bloom and the rest are doing a great job in trying to keep us up. Remember we are only in our 3 rd season and have a bottom half budget, how much should we be paying for a guaranteed striker to keep us up and who is he? The recruitment is not the problem IMHO, it's that some on here think we should be Liverpool.
God help us if we were to be like Liverpool, people would still find reasons to moan about.

Never normally agree with you about Muzza, but you’re 100% correct.

Maupay is to all intents our only striker. Negligent by the recruitment department.

Muzza’s months away from the end of a great career, Connolly’s a great prospect.

It’s in our own hands to stay up keep the faith. Wouldn’t it be boring to be mid table every season with nothing to play for. You’ve gotta love the Albion. Excitement every season.

No mid table finish since 2012. And for many seasons prior to that hardly any. Certainly not dull following BHA

A rather troubling leap, you'll be calling up Godwin's Law next..

We are frequently told of the thousands of players scouted.
The amount of work that's required.
Barber has spent 5 seasons making up words to explain how expensive strikers are.

Due to a necessary cull of misfits the squad started the season with 2 strikers, (and Murray) with no time to do anything about it, everyone at the club is aware of the fact that just isn't enough.

The team has done brilliantly to get this far, yet despite having 4 months, another striker is yet to arrive, 5 potential points have gone begging (imagine if that becomes 8 on Tuesday).

Are you seriously suggesting the squad should see out the season with it's current striker options?.

We have a good side but the same problem this year as previous - a lack of decent centre forwards. Let’s be honest, we currently have one championship striker, a youth who had one good match against Spurs & pensioner Murray. It doesn’t look as if we will sign anyone again this month, which I believe is foolhardy. We are going to get relegated I regret & deservedly so, if we don’t strengthen. Oh well, I’ll be still watching the team

I'm not in a position to tell the club what to do, I can only trust them to get the right players in. One thing I know for sure is that they will try to do the best for the club and safe guard Tony Bloom investment. Graham Potter has only had one pre season to completely change the way we play, this is still an ongoing project, and if it fails it fails. Yes relegation will be a shame, but if that happens I believe that we will be in a strong position to go back up again. At the end of the day I will still have my season ticket be it in the Premier league or championship. When I look at what has gone on over the years I am just grateful that I have my hometown club to support. I am just enjoying the ride.

Title heading to Anfield.

Blimey that's bold. Oh hang on, you mean this season not next. What wit only one draw against a perfect record, I think its been there a few weeks myself. They might have enough points already for European qualification.

Effin' Burnley fluking three points against Leicester hasn't helped the mood this weekend. Southampton, Burnley, B'mth, Palarse, Watford - even Norwich - all pull out the odd fluke three points for a win; we don't. Odds against us getting anything off Liverpool or Citeh at the Amex later this season, or three points at Leicester?

Not a scooby.

Part of the problem, and has been for years, is the good clubs let us play nice football and beat us with their mega bucks quality, but the crap teams drag us down and we don't know how to do that. . Yesterday was a classic example. AV have 2 players and a bunch of bullies/hackers/donkeys but they stick to their guns and get something.

The odds no doubt will be the same. Who knows, did not think we would get anything from Tottenham at home, Arsenal away, Chelsea at home. Also thought we would get demolished by Liverpool away.

90% of Reds fans, even last week, wouldn’t proclaim it. It being only January, some heartbreak in the past and Mansour’s Citeh machine at any time can churn out relentless wins.

A pivotal weekend.

I thought Villa would beat us, so a point was a bonus.

It was remarkable how the vast majority of posters felt the match was going to yield 3 points, a great vibe. We’re not very good just now, after yesterday, it appears that many positive posters have serious concerns.
