Would have thought by now if someone was sat next to someone at White Hart Lane on Sunday who was doing 'Monkey Chants' they would have come forward with a seat number by now?

Not entirely sure that anyone's done or even heard a 'Monkey Chant' at football in England since about the 1970's. Not heard that shit here for decades. PL Italian football tourist at Spurs maye? Last heard that shit in Italy Serie A only a couple of years back.

Seems to me that UK football is WELL ahead of the game, despite social media suggesting otherwise. Personally am pretty satisfied that the English game is doing just about as much as it reasonably can. And doing more than most. And have zero doubt that it ever even crosses the minds of the huge majority of fans to be racist in any shape or form in the first place.

Beyond that, seems to me it's down to those supporters around the racist throwback freaks to call them out/report them. Else they're just implicitly complicit.

...starting to think he's maybe misheard a bit of booing perhaps. Would have found the culprit by now as the timing and approx location was very easy to pin down

Commercialisation kills self regulation. If you do this monkey gesture shit in Sweden you'll get beat up and thrown out by other fans. Probably the same in most of Western Europe. Only way to solve this on the path England has taken is to go even further, like adding scanners that check your soul. Not dead inside, not coming in.

I heard a Spuds fan on Talkshite this morning, declaring himself to be of an ethnic background and stating that he not heard any racist chanting against Rudiger.
What he did say, was that he was disgusted at the home support singing a rather unruly song against Chelsea player Alonso

Ian Abrahams was unhappy at the Spurs fans use of “ Yid” at their ground, he said he understood that by the Spurs fans claiming the name as their own it couldn’t be used against them but stated that he’d always considered it a derogatory name for his people/religion and wished they’d stop using it.

He sounded quite upset by it I thought.

I heard a fair few 'monkey chants' well into the 80s although things were much worse in the 1970s. Anyone who remembers the young Huddersfield player having to be substituted c1973 after a large part of the West Stand seats directed them at him every time he got the ball will know that we were far from immune from it. I spent a lot of time at WHL in the early 80s when I lived in Edmonton and it was one of the very few grounds at which I never heard any racist abuse or chants, certainly not from the home fans.

Utter tosh!

If it wasn't something else that was misheard and there were monkey chants that it is *less* likely to be reported by the lads in the next seats who have sat together season after season and know each other well and *more* likely to be reported by some strangers who are just football tourists and will never see the perpetrator again.

Aye saw it on one report.....but as I said it seems very little has been made of it media wise..or am I mistaken

Was a plastic cup and he has been banned.
Another Chelsea fan was arrested for racially abusing Son.
Nobody has (yet) been identified for racially abusing Rudiger.
