Not sure how Everton didn't get a pen for Dele Allli's handball. VAR spent more than 3 minutes checking it before deciding it wasn't handball. Except it was handball. Very confusing.

They didn’t show a repeat so I could be totally wrong, but did Son actually do anything wrong? Wasn’t it the second challenge from Aurier that caused the horrible injury? It looked like Son just nudged him over and Gomez went tumbling, where he then fell into a nasty lunge from Aurier.

Shocking refereeing though. He had a yellow in his hand and as soon as the extent of the injury became clear he changed to a red.

Well said. Atkinson reacted to the injury.

If that was a straight red for Son, he’s been harshly punished.

Fed up with trains. Sick of the rain.
Looked a relatively innocuous challenge from Son. A yellow card at worst. This game isn't a good advert for VAR - or for Atkinson's refereeing.

Carragher: [on richarlison going down] I think that's a dive

How dare you, sir! How can you possibly besmirch his good name with such scurrilous accusations!

The Everton players like screaming for reds a lot, thought that in itself was a bootable offence

They were also shouting for a penalty after every tackle in the box last week as were their fans. Entitled twats

Yup we stay 8th - tho maybe would have preferred Everton to not get a point

Hope Gomes plays again

Two incredibly poor teams.

Feel for Gomes though.

Happy to still be in eighth after that weird, weird match.

Not a red but unfortunately a bad one.

Years ago players broke their leg with a hard , normally a side challenge, these days it appears the momentum as they hit the grass does it. I wonder if the way the pitch is constructed grabs the foot and bang
