It is basic and has been for a thousand years. He, I and millions of others choose to have our laws made in this country, for better or for worse. If they're for worse we can vote those politicians out of Westminster.
Remainers prefer to have them made by an increasingly power-hungry, corrupt, undemocratic organisation on the continent. Yet you think you have the moral high ground.

I prefer some of the laws I live under, like that which defines how warm olive oil can get in the extraction process and still be called Extra Virgin Olive Oil, to be made by thoughtful people who understand the significance of the temperature to the qualities of Olive Oil. I don't give a shit where they are.
I prefer being able to vote in a European election and select a party that I feel best represents me, than voting in a UK election and voting for the party that has the best chance of beating the party I really don't want running the country.

I prefer having the right to go and work as a Lederhosen Model in Germany too, because I have got great knees, that just are not appreciated in the UK.

Just reminding you all, as if it's not obvious that the boiling point is very very close and people will get injured and all because you can't take democracy.

The vote was leave, leftie remoaners need to let it go.

Revisit me in 10 days on this one guys, this is no threat just a vision statement, now what does that make it ......19th October.

This all could be avoided if Benn had kept out of it.

Morning Mouldy. How's the en masse street protests going?

Amazing how many remainers on this thread don't know how to use search engines ..

https://www.brugesgroup.com/blog/the-european-army

‘The world of tomorrow is a world of empires, in which we Europeans and you British can only defend your interests, your way of life, by doing it together in a European framework and a European Union’ - Guy Verhofstadt

"The same with defence. Let's create a European defence union, let's take on our responsibilities... Let's become an empire, an empire of the good and not of the bad." - Guy Verhofstadt

Little Eurolanders pining for empire, how ironic ....

Rokerite claimed he had said something on this "Yesterday".
I think Empire was the wrong word for Guy to use, because of it's context in European history, but not as bad as saying something like "The best fate for Africa would be if the old colonial powers, or their citizens, scrambled once again in her direction; on the understanding that this time they will not be asked to feel guilty.” as Boris Johnson did some years ago.

So you think their behaviour was acceptable then ??. I bet if it were leave supporters you'd be all over it like the rest. No matter what side they are that was unacceptable

This is the footage. I saw and heard worse when we demonstrated a couple of times outside of the Brighton Centre for Falmer.

JRM is entitled to a ministerial car, with tinted windows which can be parked in the official car park. He chose to walk through the public, with his son (was the Nanny not available on a Saturday?) for publicity. The Mail on Sunday apparently called it a Hate Fuelled Mob.

Edited : For the purposes of accuracy, it was Hate Filled Mob (apparently targetting the 12 year old)

Mogg probably thinks that sort of experience is character building for the boy, and good training for not giving a shit about the plebs, and being an unapologetic selfish ****, like his Father and Grandfather.

Interesting story in the times that focus groups are showing that people have no idea that signing the deal would not be “getting brexit done” - it is amazing that people have still not twigged that this is merely the end of the easy bit at the beginning before we get into the hard bit. Remember that for trade the EU countries will all take different views so getting anything agreed will be a nightmare because all countries will need to agree. Otherwise a country like Austria could veto a trade deal over something small.

there was and they did. economics was not the reason a lot of people voted.

I get that not all of the 52% voted on purely economic grounds, but I'm damn sure at least 3% of them did, and that's all it took to swing the vote Leave's way.

When will Corbyn etc realize that all the vast majority of voters want is this brought to an end. ASAP. The best thing that could happen is Berscow to leave his post today.
He leaves in 10 days ! No need to be so impatient !

There's not much hope of people realising this though, the pro Brexit media have hypnotised enough people to believe that leaving is worthwhile..... Despite the fact that there will only be negative benefits.

He is effectively running the country for now though!

MPs must be given "a straight up-and-down vote" on the PM's Brexit deal later, No 10 says, but it is not clear whether the Speaker will allow it.

I am impatient because he has been the best weapon the anti Boris mob have had and will continue to do us harm for the remaining 10 days, possibly irreparable.
Aye, he certainly 'brings law to the lawless'.

But 10 more days before his long walk away.

It's all gone a bit BoJo tbh. Once this extension has been sorted, we can then arrange a GE, and when the Tories are kicked out, a new referendum to ensure we remain.

All good people, just wait and see.

The only way you can "Get Brexit Done Now" and "brought to an end" is be leaving but remaining in the Customs Union or Remaining Outright.

Any other form of Brexit will take years (possibly decades) of further negotiations to undo the mess of lost trade/communication/etc deals.

Not really.

Join EFTA, and piggy back on their trade deals.

In which case it is against the EFTA rules to be in the EU Customs Union.

Customs Boundary in the Irish Sea, join EFTA, make decision on medium term level of EEA access, move towards a Switzerland+ FTA with the EU over time.
