I realise this doesn't belong here, but as this is the home of 'Webster not good enough' - it does rather fit right in.

No it doesn't belong here, and neither does this comment..

Of all the other 14 tables comparing the top performing players, I think I have only seen 1 mention of a Palace player.
And yet they stand 6th in the table..

Must all be down to Hodgson's work on Systems and shapes ( I think that was what Se20 attributed it to).
Certainly no luck involved.

Would be some sort of record, for a player who has as far as I can recall, never started a senior match for his club.......

He had 2 starts in 2016 in the league cup for us against Colchester and Oxford when he was 18. I was at the former, and actually remember being impressed with how assured he was on the ball.

Edit: Just checked my WhatsApp messages from that evening:

"Norwood is class", "Holla is still s*it" and "White has impressed me"

Pedantry I know - but if they're 6th. they're not one of the 14 in the other places!

If Liverpool come knocking and offer £20M does anyone seriously think Ben White is going to say no he wants to stay at Brighton? He's not from anywhere near Sussex (from Poole)l for a start. I guess it depends on whether he wants to naturally develop playing more 1st team football than being a bench warmer at Liverpool. I would also suggest that if he did go the club would put a hefty add on should White become an England international and get sold on etc etc. Gut instinct says he will go if the offer is high enough.
Everybody on herd seems to be assuming that Liverpool only want him for bench-warming. I'm not so sure - they're clearly not too happy with their other three CBs (the ones that aren't VVD), and while I'm not saying he'd go straight into the 1st. team on day one, I'm not at all sure he'd be on the bench for very long.
However, that's academical - he has a season to finish at Leeds (although I suppose we could bring him back in January if we had a catastrophic injury crisis) and then hopefully with us next season (Dunk's replacement if he gets his big move?) Can't see us selling until he's played PL for us for a bit - and maybe England as well. Then we're in the money!

Flipping heck how long did it take you to scroll back 3+ years? I'd get RSI of my thumb if I tried to go back that far.

4 or 5 minutes, but I was sure I had commented on the match (and specifically on White's performance) for the benefit of my less loyal friends who had not bothered going, and I was curious to look back on what I said. I will remind everyone of my uncanny judgement when he gets his first England call up!

He won three successive promotions from The Championship, and is now playing an important part for Sheffield United in the PL. Pretty good going, eh?

But, but, but...…..he was just so ORDINARY for us

Oh well, just goes to show.

Did anyone see his qualities when at BHA? Don't think so. My lasting memory was the away game at Huddersfield (live on Sky) when he replaced Stephens (I think) and was pants and we got over-run and many people started panicking that Huddersfield would catch us - never imagined he'd been starting in a Premier League game a few years later

No one saw his qualities because he didn’t get a run in the team as Kayal & Stephens were always 1st choice.

Also - he strikes me as a ‘Potter’ player me rather than a ‘Hughton’ player as his game is all about progressive passing rather than defensive shape.

It‘a a shame he never had enough minutes to show his worth for us.
