Definitely 3-4-3 in the first half which im sure would become 5-2-3 against better opposition, and loved the interchanging of the front 3, but the second half seemed more like 3-5-1-1 to me, more so when Murray was replaced by Andone.

Generally became a 4-4-2 when defending, Montoya and Burns resumed the full back roles. Fluid formations, good to watch.

Either you're a) being purposefully contrary, b) can't actually see what's going on in a football game or c) both.

It was a genuine observation that defending Burn was the weak link but did get forward a bit. I am sure Premier strikers would relish playing against him more so than Dunk or Duffy. Son was talking to a coach load of Pompey fans at the club in HH were they stopped on their way to Crawley game and they raved about Clarke saying we had paid peanuts for a future England CB who even now could walk into our team.

Good work out, easing in to the new formations. Lots to like (incl Locadia, Burn). 2/3 signings in the next couple of weeks being striker, right (wing) back, centre midfield and the squad would be set up nicely.

He didn't even walk in off the bench this afternoon.

Has anyone got an update on the post that Duffy went careering in to? I hope it's ok.

There's no doubt the commentator was an idiot but there are big car factories that do close for 2 weeks, particularly JLR. I had a software client in Birmingham until last year and there was a two week period where you couldn't arrange meetings because anyone who was married to a JLR employee would be off on holidays.

Not just the car factories. All their suppliers either shut down or reduce numbers as well.

Thought Solly put in a massive shift today, and liked Burn's play.Back 3 looks good against rather poor opposition-hope he's got a plan b.Nice to see Bruno consoling Stockers at the end of the game!

Lower league fans thinking their player is a World beater...FFS.

Clarke may be a good acquisition, time will tell. But don't take the Pompey fans' word for it.

Were our fans on here not saying the same about Connor Goldson?

Some were. Some weren't. I see no relevance in this.

I don't know how you came to the conclusion that Burn was the weak link today when nearly everyone else (including me) thought he played really well. You then push the idea that Clarke should be ahead of him because some Portsmouth fans told your son that he was the new Beckenbauer.

You present your argument...strangely.

The remark about Clarke was as an aside and nothing to do with my opinion of Burns game. If I was a Klopp Pochettino etc and he was in our starting line up I would tell my wide players to target him as the weak link.

He looks like he’ll settle in okay to me however if I’m wrong I’ll be editing that post out of my highlights of NSC showreel.
You've got an NSC show-reel? I want one!

 If you were a Klopp or Pochettino, then your tactics would be a little more nuanced than that.

1) You are not Klopp
2) You are not Pochettino
3) You never will be
4) You are talking different levels of players
5) I really do not understand your opinion.........so on that basis.......I'm OUT
