In a biased way, twisting the rules to suit and relying on some ancient precedent.

Absolute bias. Abuse in public office, he should be gone. Nasty grinning assassin.

Quite funny for a politician to accuse someone else of being politically motivated.

I don't want to see Boris defending his lies in court. I rather see him blown out into outer space.

Courts should really stay out of things like this and let the electorate decide. He's ****ed if he wins anyway. He may have got away with it as London Mayor, but he won't under the scrutiny of parliament and the media as PM.

Yes, it is astonishing that you think it is OK to:

- have an openly biased Speaker who is actively influencing politics in a way far beyond the remit of a Speaker,

- start a civil claim against the 'main target' politician that the remain camp are worried about, when there were lies & scaremongering from the other side and the claim is vexatious drivel, designed to sabotage

- suggest that remain 'won' the EU elections because remainers decide to add up some results to paint it that way (ergo 'London' won the Premier League, then)

- suggest that a referendum needs to be run again because you lost and you are not happy.

Brexit will happen. I am enjoying the farce but the shenanigans of the increasingly desperate remain camp are more and more shocking by the week.

Then how did he get away with then ? If you can twist the rules on some "ancient precedent" then there must be something wrong with our system and not the single person able to do it.

If it was abuse, why didn't somebody take court action ?

This is the hypocrisy of people shouting "democracy" and "taken back control". You had no idea who you were handing control over to. It's not an abuse of democracy, that's OUR democracy. It's how it works.

If you have a problem with it do your homework and not suddenly get engaged when things don't go the way you expected. Look at the first past the post system, the privy council, royal prerogative, the house of lords, the fact that our system employs over 330,000 un-elected bureaucrats and the EU only 55,000.

This is a common trait amongst Leavers. Apparent experts on the EU, not a scooby on how our system works.

Oh come on. This was all discussed at the time and I don't need to throw links at you.

Bercow is IMHO unfit to remain the Speaker. There is no debate that he has a clear & obvious bias.

If it was abuse, why didn't somebody take court action ?
Because only the remain camp are that desperate that they have more money than sense.

It's really sad so many people think they are so clever and yet are being so manipulated by the money behind a campaign that is led with an agenda far bigger. You might say the same of Leave. I say it, as regards Remain.

The lawyer who is summosing Boris Johnson is doing so because he is the one he has collected hard evidence against. A judge has ruled it can go to court. Let justice take place before you or I decide whether it is vexatious drivel or not.
Politicians are not above the law, and are accountable to voters, and the law of the land.

That's not how it works.

At a lower county court level I've helped defend claims (not just from parking firms) where on paper it looks like the Defendant has a case to answer and the Claimant has evidence. In one particularly memorable case last year which was completely vexatious, aggressive and badly pleaded, it was discontinued when lies and holes were exposed in the Claimant's case.

The same will happen with this one. It's doomed.

Of course not, there are always the manipulated minions too. Deluded.

You further pontificate on who you would like as PM. A PM who will take the country in a different direction (exclude Brexit) without a general election, because that's how our system works.

No call for a general election if that suits you fine. Happy for the one that makes you laugh.

Don't lecture me or anyone else on democracy. The democracy you hate is the one you have, the one you voted for more control.

Stick to X-Factor.

LOL. She might be right! I liked her as a Speaker.

You all know what Bercow did to block a vote and he wriggled out of it, no doubt high fiving remain-supporting MPs in his wake and dining out on it for weeks. He's now decided not to step down and we all know what his agenda is.

He blocked the vote because it had already been defeated twice. Parliamentary rules say you cannot keep bringing back a bill without altering it significantly. That is the rule.
I reckon Theresa May knew that and tried to bring it back anyway even though she knew it would be blocked. After all, she's the first Prime Minister ever to be in contempt of Parliament.

A judge has already ruled a summons could be issued from the evidence. It could have been turned down.

I'm sure she didn't know Bercow was that desperate to dredge up an unknown 1604 rule that some desperate remainer friend maybe fed him.

She was too weak to get Brexit through, but Boris, or another, will.

Did you read what I said?

A claim or summons issued is just that. A starting point to open a claim, nothing more.

Meritless cases get discontinued before hearings all the time, such as in the case I mentioned above, where a claim was issued, and a prelim hearing was held too, in front of a Judge. Still discontinued before the main hearing, happens a lot if the Defendant can expose the crap in the case and/or the Claimant comes to the realisation that the claim was always founded on weak or speculative evidence and poorly pleaded from the start.

Sometimes claims are just designed to intimidate or for another agenda, like here. It means very little that a Judge allowed a case to be argued. She could only have turned it down if there was literally no cause of action at all or any potential prospects of success.

She held that the case was arguable. That's all. It doesn't mean she thinks the case has particularly strong merit.

Ha, ha, ha.

Suddenly an expert of our dysfunctional system. A system that our MPs don't understand,

I'm sure nobody thought un-elected special advisors could push civil servants around via an order of the Privy Council under Blair but you voted for it, "taking back control".

( that's not your control by the way )

Right wing MPs chasing the "sovereignty" ticket JUST LOVE YOUR VOTE.

If you look back a few years, no-one in this country gave a **** about the EU. It's ranks very low in voters concerns.

With the death of the centre, you have a resurgence of two very different ideologies. The far left and neo-liberalism. They both have an agenda, the EU gets in the way and they NEED YOU via a referendum to help them.

Rather then being fully open about what they really want, they've pushed your pain points about the EU and they have succeeded.

This whole crises has little to do with the EU, it's just a straw man.

Your eyes have just been opened to the deficiencies of our "democracy", a democracy both sides wish to manipulate outside of the "controls" of the EU.

You swallowed it, like the supporters of Corbyn.

What you are witnessing now is pragmatic MPs playing the system too, to stop either extremes taking control.

Check out Rees Mogg, his influential father and influential economist guru. Do you really want to see farming and manufacturing die ? Do you really want to see hormone injected beef from Australia undercutting our own meat ?

They are all on record saying they do.

I don't drink gin, or anything really. Are you just not capable of listening to a woman and think she must have been drinking?

I ask again:

Well?

It should be easy for you all.

I am very capable of listening to a woman except when they are mouthy old boilers who talk crap.
All your posts are full of instructions on what people should do, you clearly have absolutely no idea of what you are talking about so you are not worthy of a conversation.
I think you should know your place and keep quiet.
Have a nice day.

No different, no. The remain campaign was littered with lies and scaremongering.

The real spot the difference I am still waiting to hear about, is can anyone see the difference between the (more money than legal sense) remainers' desperate and pointless claim, and the very similar basis of plea whereby Middlesbrough intend to take legal action against Derby over FFP?

Why lady in inverted commas?

Apparently as you can't answer me, I am obviously on the gin. And you think leave voters are stuck in the 1970s!

Why ‘lady’ in italics?

That biased, grinning idiot pro-remain speaker Bercow is waaaay out of line and needs removing from his position.

How about someone starts a meritless civil claim against Bercow for misconduct in public office?

Oh wait, that won't happen. Leave voters generally are made up of the ordinary person who doesn't have more money than sense, and have better priorities than having their strings pulled by big business funded by the EU.

Just to point out a couple of things, (that you of course already know) clearly the Johnson case is not meritless as, firstly, it has been deemed to have merit enough to be sent for trial - It will be heard in a crown court. Secondly, even his own defence has started on the basis that they claim that in the context of the campaign, he was not using his public office - So tacitly accepting that Johnson, as we all know, was lying (of course, he has significant form for this). Finally, it's not a civil case, it's a criminal charge that carries a potential life sentence.

I'm sure your expertise will empower you to rebuff these points but they're entirely true.
