Yes - you are allowed to vote. But if it becomes apparent the people have changed their mind and don’t want Brexit, do you think we should respect democracy and stop Brexit, or ignore democracy?

People have, if they have, changed their minds as many along the democratic way have put as many spanners and delaying tactics in the way to bring out the best in human traits, if it's too tricky then just bin it.

You and I agree. I also don’t want a 2nd ref, clearly there is no appetite for Brexit. Scrap it.

100% this. The people have spoken in 2019 and the politicians should listen. The out of date referendum result has been overturned.

I am sick and tired of all this wasted money being spent on this doomed and ridiculous project.

Time to take the lead in the EU once again and start worrying about Russia, China and the USA.

“If it’s too tricky then just bin it”.

Agreed - also what many of us were saying at the time of the vote. Never going to be a clean Brexit that benefits the UK.

What a waste of 3 years.

How many have Hamas killed? How many have Hezbollah killed? How many have ISIL killed? There are plenty of Irish Republican sympathisers in British politics. If Corbyn supported remain, you would love him,IRA apologist that he still is.

I have discernment and judgement, so no, I wouldn't love Corbyn if he was Remain. I judge each and every politicians on their actions, not their words.

I voted to leave. I simply asked if my vote counted for anything, not a nah nah nah nah.

It counted for something 3 years ago but democracy is a moving thing. You have to keep on voting. It's never a once in a lifetime event.

I agree. Let's be part of something we, nor any bugger else, can escape from. Sounds healthy.

We can leave whenever we like.

TM put forward a plan to leave a few months back, but it was scuppered by a group of Leave supporting MPs :)

Or, of course, you can always put a hard border in NI, but I'm not sure anyone, except for a few swivel-eyed loons, thinks that is a good idea

We can leave, it’ll just **** up the country for generations economically, because being in the EU BENEFITS us.

Firstly, the result of the democratic vote was never carried out, to be reversed at a later date. So it didn't, as you say, 'count for something'.

Secondly, the smug assumption that 'the people have changed their minds' does make me grin inside. Arrogance, not a bit of it.

So many posts trying to gather a crumb of comfort that the council results are a clear indication of brexit's imminent demise. This vote was a vote that not only included votes from remainers who voted remain parties, but also, millions of leavers voted for anyone but the tories or Labour as an expression of their dissatisfaction of how the main parties have failed to deliver brexit.

Unicorns have clearly switched sides here and now they are freely gamboling along in the sunny pastures of remainers dreams.

Solid gains?

This is their best result for generations according to Sir Ed Davey.

It’s also a clear democratic indication that the majority of people want to remain.

Time to bin off Brexit ASAP - no 2nd referendum needed!

So come the European elections, when pro-Brexit parties win a majority of the vote, you'll agree to restart Brexit then ?

I doubt it will mean the end for Brexit. A sort of collective insanity has formed around Brexit and I’m sure we will leave. But make no mistake, the majority of the country does not want to leave and it will be a disaster for the U.K.

What smug assumption? I never mentioned the Brexit vote. I just said voting is a moving thing. I voted yesterday.
