Although virtually relegated Huidderfield will not just roll over and to pre quote CH ' they are a decent side who havent had the run of the luck so will give us a difficult game' .

The essence of the problem this season has been the complete absence of engagement from the East and West.

True..... Although quite difficult to try to follow sometimes when the E, W and NW sections of the N are all singing different songs.

Could we get a drum? [emoji38]

The North Stand is the problem.
I sit in the WSU North end and we do join in with songs we know or when the North occasionally sing together.
Most of the time I can hear the fans under the police box singing, but I'm nit sure what they are actually singing, also it sounds like about 20 of them are actually making the noise.
The fans near the goal and big screen do sound louder when they sing, but they are usually singing a different song to the fans under the police box.

Not sure if one set of fans can actually hear the other TBF, maybe it's the design of the North Stand.

I did sit in the ESU for the Derby match, I was at the South End so the away fans obviously sounded loud at times, I could hear the North Stand but it wasn't very loud.
The loudest chant was Albion- Albion after Derby scored.

Sounds more like the problem is the other 3 stands, with the overwhelming number of fans, not making enough noise?

We also moved for the Derby game, and were almost right on the half way line.

The Derby fans were tremendous, loud, united and really put us to shame.

There has been a couple of games, this season, and lets face it only a couple of games each season, when the AMEX has truly rocked with a genuine 'wall of noise'.

That noise is probably what those that sing under the police box and those that sing behind the goal hear every game.
But I assure you that's not what the rest of the stadium hears.

What we hear (in the Family Stand) is the away supporters followed by a reaction from one of the NS groups.
Jeering from the the away supports.

Rinse and repeat.

Sort of.......we all know the North is where it’s going to be led from if anywhere, with the E & W libraries following. The problem is the North usually has 3 separate groups all singing different stuff at the same time. Pretty sure the E & W followers would join in much more than now if there was a clear lead.

Albion fans have been immense away from home for decades.

With all vociferous sections from around the Amex, forceably confined together, the day out thing of boozing for many and generally diehard fans.

We match Derby away from home.

It's always been the same. Being in the North roughly between the two main singing groups it is a bloody pain to know which song to sing.

There needs to be a meeting of minds between the egos involved to decide which group leads the singing and which follows. Will it ever happen? Unlikely. All I can say is that the NSK is far more inventive with the songs and therefore has far more variety and brings us new songs whilst the other group tends to be a bit louder.

Or maybe both singing groups can demand 400 seats right behind the goal eh?

Totally agree. When the North sing well, all stands join in, evident during promotion season. Simpler the songs the better too............ we're on our way for example.

Away support has been dire since the Amex opened imho. Full of kids and wheras we used to be noisey every week wherever the venue, now it's limited to about 5 games a season. The rest, silence unless we score. Bit like the home suppory really.

Perhaps I got lucky then, some great memories.

The only annoyance, groups of 20 year olds that take your seats and tanked up, are ready to defend them.

(I don’t go to 19 a season).

It can NEVER happen. You simply can’t move so many people about against their free will. If people want a better atmosphere, it’s up to everyone regardless where sit to make some noise and we know there’s got to be a comet passing by for that to happen.
