Sky have hours to fill and a largely quite dull transfer window to big up to draw viewers. They will report most rumours from the papers (aka 'sky sources'). In this window, they can't quite afford to properly check on everything and make sure there's some substance to a rumour rather than a bored journo.

As such, while there's usually a slightly more substance to a rumour that makes it onto SSN, I'd treat the rumours this window with a just a touch more salt.

Why is this so difficult for posters to understand:-

Having loaned out all their Hone Grown Players Chelsea found themselves unable to name a 25 man squad.
As that situation can't change now because all loans were season long, Chelsea can only buy HGP's if they want to add to their EPL squad.
That's all before the team has had it's funding cut rather limiting the pool of players they can shop in.

This. They have to buy English. Hence being linked with Barnes, Crouch and Murray (suggested in the guardian), of whom Barnes is showing the best form. Would love to see him bullying pique or Sergio Ramos in the latter stages of the CL.
