We have 3 CB when fit so a short term fix would become the 4th choice Hunemier will be on the bench and in case of suspension or injury would step into the side and hie be replaced by in my example Haagerland.on the bench Haagerland is at the end of his career and has been offered nothing so I would think he would take the offer.to earn some money rather than nothing.

You have a good point (did I really say that?)

Dear God,

Would you please hurry up with the start of the season so that we can concentrate on the important things in football. That being the state of the pies, the queues for the kiosks, the umpteenth thread on Harveys running out, the wrong choice of burger and so and so forth.

This bit about who we should buy, why didn't we buy, everyone else is buying why haven't we, etc. etc. is all getting a bit tedious. So if you could sort that out as well that would be good.

Cheers very much . . . . oh, and promotion next May would be much appreciated if that's not too much trouble.

He really doesn't.

Our likely first choice pairing for the season will be Dunk and Goldson. Our urgent requirement is for a fourth centre back who is ready to play NOW, not a 35 year old who made nine appearances in the last 15 months, and has had no pre-season training or warm-up games.

We got rid of some of our older players at the end of last year, as well as sending some of our squad players out on loan for this season, and now our squad looks a bit short of numbers. Surely Bloom has a few more signings up his sleeve to strengthen the squad?

We still need another defender or two, maybe another midfield player, and most definitely another decent striker. All the teams competing with us for the top 6 spots are buying good quality players, yet we don't seem to be, and the season is looming ever closer.

I know the squad we have did an amazing job last season, but if we weren't going to replace our veteran players with better younger players, surely we'd have been better off keeping them till we did. I know we have signed a few, but I don't feel it's enough.

Change your knickers for a dry pair we will sign a few quality players between now and the end of the window.

Didnt we do similar with Upson and Hughes. His experience will get him through games in the early part of the season like Derby on Saturday. rather than a right back who is poor in the air.but good on the ground as a full back.

No, we didn't. Both had a pre-season with us to get fit, and warm-up games to bed with the team.

Hughes as a roaring success.....

Upson was a quality signing, but he was a top player for most of his career.

Class being permanent and all that.

For fear of repeating myself offer a 6 month contract with the possibility of another 6 months to Haagarland released by CPFC. at the worst it will give us breathing space for Goldson and Hunemier

You need pace at the back these days not old gits like us going round in wheelchairs and zimmer frames, That's why we let the likes of Greer and Calderon go. As other's have said we need to sign a player who will be competition not someone looking for a pension pay out.

What does that mean, in this instance? I don't understand?

I'm not saying all is great / the club have it under control. Quite the opposite on this single item - I think we desperately need a centre back, and I'm sure they're working to sort that. Just disagreeing with the suggestion of getting in an old, unfit one.

.
and had effectively been playing / training with us since the previous January, rather than sat on his sofa eating cakes.

Would that not be better than a right back who is very poor in the air in comparison to the majority of strikers and likely to get caught out of position by playing out of position.

Anyone that thinks Hughton isn't going to bring someone else in is an idiot, I don't post much but you're an idiot to think this! He tired signing a player for £8m? He didn't get him so I very much doubt he'll think '**** it, can't be assed' Hughton is the smartest man in the championship and knows exactly what to do, he will bring at least one class player and we will go up this season. We have a fantastic squad (imo for the money we've spent the best in the league) just wait and see who we bring in guys! Yeah Pritchard is a good player, but the team spirit we have do we want a money grabber who is lazy and happy to get more money and sit on the bench? Not really, would rather baldock tbh, great team spirit, but it's not the point, we have a great team that will soon get better!
