I follow tennis a lot and the future looks really bright, plenty of youngsters coming through the challenger circuit, 7 players in the top 100, Murray is so intelligent on a court he can play and inspire for at least 3 more years at the very very top. The ladies look good at the moment and are probably a better bet post Murray to win Titles.

That's good to hear. I think Murray is something else though, the man is brilliant.

Novak will be pleased. He must have felt a bit guilty and bored beating Murray in big finals. Murray was best man at his wedding too.

Brilliant stuff. Now, I suggest, he can afford to go out and buy himself a Decent Haircut.

Great day for British sport, what with Little Lewis Hamilton winning the car race.

I do not understand why Murray gets a hard time from some on NSC. He really is an exceptionally good player.

Because - amongst the approximately 10,000,000,000 sentences he has spoken in his life, he made a JOKE to Tim Henman about footy about 48 years ago, and some unbelievably precious/thick people have held onto it as a sign that Murray (English wife, English coaching team, lives in England) hates England.

That's why. He's a ****ing brilliant tennis player.

I have warmed to his missus. Her expletive ridden outburst caught on camera against Berdych last year was a classic.

Along the lines of "****ing take that you ****ing flash Czech ****"
Did she really? Maybe I've been too hard on her.

Murray bossed that final. Totally tore Raonic's game apart, piece by piece, dissected his big serve like a surgeon with a sharp blade. The only thing I felt he could have done a little more of was mixing up his lobs; at one point Raonic was coming to the net about 75% of the time, but obviously he (correctly) felt he didn't need to incorporate the lob too much.

Long live the king of Wimbledon, hopefully with Lendl back on board he can grab another 3-5 GSs in the next few years.

Isn't that going too far, since he only broke serve once?

That's a fair point but consider that Raonic absolutely blew everyone away with it and Murray was able to make it look quite average, so I don't think so. He patted back a 147mph serve like it was nothing.

We have great wheelchair champions too. Gordon Reid took the doubles and singles titles.

Despite that, a straight sets win never really looked in doubt, did it?
Well I'm no tennis pundit, but he looked in control. I just thought 'Totally tore Raonic's game apart, piece by piece, dissected his big serve like a surgeon with a sharp blade' was an exaggeration, that's all.

I can't now remember what happened in the tie breaks - I remember the score, but was it simply Murray choosing to wait until then to batter his serve, or did the pressure get to Raonic?
