I don't think we signed him expecting to have to rely on him. Fortunately Hemed scored last night and looked better than he has for a while. BZ as a sub rather than a starter has to be the way forward. Start with Hemed and Wilson.

We have been far too reliant on BZ due to Baldock's injury and Hemed's complete loss of form coupled with the club's unwillingness to spend big on a Championship quality striker. All things considered I think BZ has had a blinder of a season so far, really hope we can play him less as we will certainly burn him out before season's end if he has to carry on as he has.

Talking about his fitness not performance moron. :ffsparr:

Only talking about it because he had a bad game though, wasn't mentioned last game was it. Last night didn't look like fitness to me he looked as though he was carrying a knock from early on and it affected his performance so he had a bad half. I don't see a big issue with his fitness, he fades out during games he starts and is subbed off after 60 minutes every time he plays normally, not unusual for a 35 year old and we knew this before he come here. Every other game he's done a good job IMO, ridiculous thread:

He explained it himself in an interview the other week. Unable to train quite often, frustrated at his body letting him down. I'm sure someone can find it.

My only problem with him starting is that it is burning a sub straight away. Even when fully fit by his standard, he needs changing around 30 minutes. Fine if you have no injuries but limits tactical subs later on when there is an injury. Fairly sure Kaz would have come on late on if Kayal hadn't got injured. Although Murphy did the honours, the slow, high line Brentford defence was crying out for Kaz to run at them for the last 15 minutes and we may well of killed them off sooner if we hadn't been down to two subs and used one for shoring up and one for an injury.
Dear God. We may well of? I do wish I wouldn't type phonetically. And I meant 60 minutes, not 30. Still, local journalism beckons.

I am so OCD - it would have bugged me all day if I hadn't corrected myself. :tantrum:

His body is not up to it anymore, he does not train and is retiring at the end of the season. Any goals, lay offs and holding the ball up is great, the club know how and when to use him.

Absolutely. Not only that, but so I've heard, a talisman behind the scenes encouraging the younger players, using his experience in a positive manner to influence the team. Overall, just a brilliant asset for the club.

Looked unfit and was offside so often because he was trying to use positioning to get ahead rather than his legs. His legs are pretty much shot and I'm fairly reliably informed his fitness was what caused the will we / won't we bit of his signing drama during the summer.

Agree with the comment that him + Wilson = one striker. Wilson was looking ****ed after ten or so minutes previously though looked a lot fitter last night. I think his illness really took it out of him and may well be another reason why Man U haven't thought about recalling him.

Still, ten goals between them for the season's not bad considering!

How many times does it need to be said? It wasn't a fitness thing - he picked up an injury and that's why he was subbed. Only his first injury of the season as well - and hopefully just a minor one.

He's started 8 games this season and he's scored in 5 of those games. We should start him as often as we can.

8 days rest and then 4 games in 11 days.

Cotton wool wrapping for BZ.

Hopefully we'll bring in someone like Mr Murray to share the load after that.

I was told yesterday there was no chance it was just a false rumour so we shall have to wait and see. If so I am sure Hemed can do the same hold up job.

Other 35 year old players may be still able to have more minutes on the pitch than Bobby. Its probably the serious injuries he's had in his career that is the problem now rather than his age.

He may have picked another minor injury (hopefully) last night. But he has been a huge asset to the club in his cameo roles this season never the less.

Surely CH has got to change his strategy on this and leave BZ on the bench, bringing him on to turn the game but thus giving CH more wriggle room rather than having to burn his boats with a 25/30 mins substitution.

Bobby was very active in the huddle before the game yesterday, giving the chat. As mentioned earlier in the thread he has had a big influence throughout the club and its supporters. Even the missus now perks up with interest as to what he is up to. I was in East Stand Upper for Huddersfield and a lady in front said her mum had only come along because Bobby was starting.

Agree with this. Neither look remotely capable of 90 mins at the moment. Hoping Wilson gets over whatever is bugging him, I fear BZ is only going to go downhill from here.

He didn't pick up a knock... He was replaced due to fatigue.

Confirmed on BBC Sussex.

I can not believe the moaning on this thread. He got a knock last night, I saw him limping. The week before he started, and scored. Now there are calls for him not to start? What is wrong with some of you?

He took a knock early on and was subbed because of it.

What's the point of this thread?
I was told today that Zamora should be fit for next week. He took a knock.
