Disgusting player, good riddance.

Disgusting person maybe...although I don't know the fella so I couldn't personally confirm that. Disgusting player?? No, not in the slightest. Arguably the best English centre half to have ever played in the premier league. Very surprised Chelsea haven't given him at least another year, he's been one of the few that has been consistent this season.

The Croydon Advertiser reporting that Pardew will ask Terry to join Palace when he leaves the Bridge.

If you couldn't stand the bloke before....

Jesus wept this has been done to death , if you know I support Chelsea , you know full well why I post on here.

But i didn't know you supported Chelsea, why would i know ??? I don't know of you, should i know of you?
Still find it strange a supporter of another team would want to post on here, Whether its Chelsea, Palace, Arsenal Man U etc.
I would think they would want to post on "their" teams forum.

But you obviously did know i supported chelsea , my posts on this thread make no mention of my support of chelsea , so how would you have known ? and im sorry if this sounds arrogant but a relatively regular poster such as yourself would have to have had tunnel vision to '' not know of me'' or who i support.

Genuine question.

Apart from Chelsea fans, is there any football fan in the country who thinks John Terry is a nice bloke?
There are people on this thread who do if you'd taken the trouble to read it, instead of making a grandstanding post proclaiming your sheeplike acceptance of the prevalent view.

Really don't understand this thread ( and I am not a Chelsea fan). Excellent footballer. I don't know the guy but I suspect he is no worse than many and certainly does not have a monopoly on his 'published' activities. Do I like/loath him any more than anyone else , NO. Would I have him play at Brighton YES.

Sigh.

My "grandstanding post proclaiming sheeplike acceptance of the prevalent view" was merely question to the wider audience.

My second question. Are there any Chelsea fans without a chip on both shoulders?

You seem to have a very low opinion of most footballers then.

All I would say is he was a good CB and had he and Ashley Cole been picked for the Euros we would have progressed further than we did. He will no doubt finish up with Lampard again at New York.

Hooray, somethings happened that has absolutely nothing to do with me or the team I support , but I can be the first to make an inane post that makes me feel good about myself and let's everyone on the board know what a good anti racist I am............bellend :wanker:

You stated it yourself with your first posting on this thread, that's how i found out, hence my question,

I just think Chelsea have missed the opportunity that Liverpool also passed on, and that is to allow a club legend to pass into retirement with the club they love. MU managed it with Giggs and Scholes, you don't have to play them, but as long as they can run, you can give them a years contract. If Terry wants to turn it down, then fine, but to have some heart, soul and history in your football club, you can't just let someone like Terry walk away without any kind of offer.

This may come as a surprise, perhaps, but I have a lot of time for Terry (and I grew up with Leeds as my second team - enough said . . .). It seems to me that whenever Terry is interviewed he comes across extremely well. Many of his performances on the pitch, especially his willingness to rejoin the fray after being clobbered and taken off, have been admirable. As for his family, parking his car in the disabled section, even the on field remarks that got him into trouble . . . . I'm not anywhere near as bothered as I might be. I don't know him, and can only judge what I see. John Terry, has brought a massive amount to the game with his performances and leadership, and since that's all I really have to go on (how can we 'know' about him, as a man, really and truly, and why should we be able to do so?), that's all I can base my attitude on. For different reasons, I also have a huge amount of time for Joey Barton. Good job the thumbs down feature has been switched off. So, yes, here is one non Chelsea fan who likes Terry.

pps, Alf, it is 'prevailing' view, not 'prevalent

It didn't take me long to find this.
He even has the audacity to fake a quick injury due to the impeding whistle but then runs back in case the ref doesn't blow. Then complains.
