Good luck to the lad. Appears to lack any form of footballing brain but if he can coached to be better in this regard then maybe he'll develop into a useful addition for us in the future. This is a definite no brainier of a loan.

Was pretty funny to hear at the game. Anyways hopefully he can get a good run in the side there, Wagner plays possession football so the style there will be pretty similar to ours.

He did not have an "outburst", a journalist from back home got an interview with him to ask about his progress, he had to report that he had not made any, was not getting game time and said maybe he made a mistake in coming here, he then went on to say that it was the same at first with Feyenord though and he only got his breakthrough there after coming back from a loan period elsewhere, so maybe that could happen here too.

Holland are not doing so well. I think they have more time on the ball in their leagues. I think Manu will imporve.

On what basis are you saying that (a good player?)his touch is average,he struggles with off-side and his electrifying pace is a myth (all based on what I've seen including U21s).

He's extremely well thought of there and it isn't outside the realms of possibility that he hasn't become a bad player over night - and that there are other factors at play. Such as relocating, adjusting to a new system etc.

Indeed. The rush to demonise someone for struggling to settle is crazy.
Culturally there is a gulf between attitudes generally and specifically to football/training here and in Holland. Adjusting isn't always straightforward and it isn't always someone's fault.
Time to cut Elvis some slack; hope he does well in a Huddersfield side whose style should suit him; and hope he comes back ready and able to contribute more.

Or perhaps the Dutch league is just a poor standard.

Holla has struggled, VLP has struggled, Bergkamp didn't even make an appearance.

Even the 'big' signings have failed to meet expectations the player Man Utd signed for example (sorry forget his name ?Memphis).

The days of a conveyor belt of Dutch 'greats' seem a long way away.

As for Manu, great if he turns it round, but when you can't do basic things like run along a line and stay onside, there has to be more to it than systems and relocation.

All of that said lets hope he does well and starts next season on fire.

All players can have a bad spell, being away from home may not help, but surely the simple basic things that make a footballer should still be there. I have seen little evidence of this but would love to be proved wrong.

Oh please. It's not about demonisation or cutting slack, it's about basic football going nous.

I have seen every minute of his Brighton career plus U21s, (where he had one decent game), and sulked in the others, applying mInimal effort. It really is fairly simple to stay onside. If he is as fast as everyone made out when we signed him, he should be able to give defenders a head start.
