Sorry but people who have voted not sing at all, why don't you ??
The East never ever sing, very very few in the West Stand either no wonder it's becoming like a mausoleum recently.

I sing the original words, mainly due to my Father and Grandfather having served with The Royal Sussex Regiment.

I would dearly love to hear the entire Stadium sing them, but am well aware that many people don't actually know what they are or what they represent so will continue to sing the ones they know.

As for being able to see them on screen, No I can't.

Well you could suppose that by going up we then get the TV cash to build a squad to be able to win the cup in the future, but I prefer Stand Or Fall.

I sing:

Time for teletubbies
Time for teletubbies
Time for teletubbies
Time for teletubbies
Tinkywinky (Tinkywinky)
Dipsy (Dipsy)
Laalaa (Laalaa)
Po (Po)
Teletubbies (Teletubbies)
Say, Hello (Eh-oh)
Teletubby time, Teletubby time

I get some funny looks from 1901 Club members but I find it to be quite original.

I don't really care what the words should be, I've always sung "Going Up..." at Brighton matches...

This, but I'll probably change next season to Stand or Fall.

The club should stick with it.

I take it as you think its odd we sing sing slightly different words to GOSBTS
you either haven't been a Brighton fan for long , your very young or you have been a fan for years who has very rarely been at matches.
I just find it strange, that you think its odd that no one sings the correct words.
Im not having a go at you and i apologise, if it sounds like that but I'm honestly not, I'm just surprised that's all.

I have been a fan for over 30 years and still a season ticket holder despite living abroad. My point was that the chorus of SBTS sounds an utter mess at the moment even when the words are on the screen for the teams coming out.

Personal opinion is that although the 'win the cup' version is to be sing during games, the stand or fall version should be sung at the start of the match in unison. Just my view, feel free to differ.

From the east it does not sound like the north sing. There's always threads saying 'it was amazing in the north today' just as there are threads with 'the north was dead quiet today'. From the east, I can often only hear a murmur from the north, rarely more than a couple of hundred fans seem to sing. Why do people keep banging on about the east and the west being quiet when our main singing stand is so useless?

It bugs me that they've ABBREVIATED Sussex By The Sea pre-match. It cuts straight to the chorus, skipping the "We're the boys from Sussex" bit.

These modern limited attention spans are so...anyway.

I guess I am half this - I sing Going Up.

This isn't really a conscious decision though, I don;t get to as many games as I would like but used to go to loads, especially away. therefore It has been drummed into me over the last 10 years and it's hard to not get caught up in the momet and sing the wrong words ... bad fan :(

This. In an Albion context, it's a football song with words to match.

Or should we also be singing 'She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes' instead of 'the ref has got a tenner on the game'? Or 'Yellow Submarine' instead of 'Peter Ward' etc. etc. ???

You being asked to lay your life on the line for Sussex makes more sense to you than a second-tier football club winning either the FA or League Cup? Fair enough!

It's about context. The lyrics do not specify laying your life on the line or dying. In the context of a marching army, heading off to war, absolutely that can be read into it. In the context of a football match, it is about giving your all, win (stand) or lose (fall), doing sussex proud in the effort.

And that makes more sense than "going up to/and (we'll) win the cup" while competing in a league competition.

Sorry but people who have voted not sing at all, why don't you ??

Probably a host of reasons. I'm there to watch a football match, not perform in a choir. I don't sing. Not even in the shower. Maybe it's pavlovian conditioning from my brother when as a kid I did sing at football by him punching me in the arm and telling me to shut up because I was embarrassing him (it was his awkward early teen years where everything is embarrassing).

For sure most football songs are gormless, but they're part of most clubs history and give us old uns that warm glow of yesteryear inside, and not cos somebody's weeing in yer pocket.
