8th to 17th or so is mostly luck. Some years, like 2012/13, that's only a 12 point spread. Above that, it's usually real class, below that, usually real dreck.

You'll get a cheeky 6th and a hard-luck 19th some years....

Good point. I just think we will be a bit better than most think. Time will tell.

5/1 for promotion yesterday. Those odds have now disappeared . . . I went for it though. Now all we have to do is win 32 of the 41 left and we're in the Premiership.

Difference a year makes. Took till late October to get to 13 points last year. Over a quarter of the way to last years total as well in 5 games. Seems Chris has started to do a real good job.

Yes a great start but I do hope that we don't all get too carried away too early or at all -there is so much still to do. Inevitably the comparisons with last year will be made, and if we are going to do well, then at least after last year's dirge at home, we will have deserved it.

It's 11/10 with betvictor. I think it's a shoe in. We will sign another 3-5 fairly decent and probably foreign players and will finish 8th or above imo. Thoughts?

That is a shocking price. It should be about 6 to 1. As it stands we are the weakest team in the league, only Rotherham got fewer points but only 1 after a 3 point deduction. We have lost 8 players and got in 4, who may or may not turn out to be good. I feel it will be a hard season and lower mid table with the very weak squad we have would be an achievement

US fancies we'll struggle: Guaranteed promotion.

I have tried to explain which some people find hard to grasp this was in early July before we made 6 signings

No, even at the time it was dumb thing to say. We were no way the weakest team in the league at that time you said we were, we had just cut loose several high earning dead wood players which meant we had wiggle room to recruit, and the players that we were being linked with were all of much higher quality.

It was a piss poor overly negative prediction. Certainly talk of top two was premature but even by July there was no way we were going down.

As I said in another post where you were once again being ridiculed for getting a prediction wrong. When you play the guessing game, if you guess right you will be seen as all knowing and knowledgeable, but if you get it wrong, be prepared to be ridiculed.

If you don't like the ridicule, stop trying to guess / predict the future !!!!

Your post was on the 8th when we'd already signed Rosenior, Bong, Hemed - all good quality 1st teamers - and we already knew how good Kayal was. So you've got to admit that it was a tad on the pessimistic side to state that we're the weakest team in the league, even back then!

I like it though. You seem to be BHA's lucky charm when it comes to season predictions!
