Freaking out the kids by jumping up and down on the glass floored section is always a personal highlight.
Will the i360 engineers have allowed for 200 people jumping up and down in their pod? That's a frightening thought.

Being equidistant between Brighton and 'there', we occasionally go to Gun Wharf Quay, but have never been to Brighton Marina (which I've always assumed to be a similar chav fueled 'experience').

The tower does come into that as it's mightily impressive and always, weather permitting, worth going to the top.
But then again Portsmouth harbour always has a pooh load of stuff going on.

Brighton it'll be the sea and the downs, hardly the naval dockyards, HMS Victory

How about the Royal Pavillion, West Pier, Palace Pier, hundreds on the Prom, regency Squares, passing ships & the one legged lady entertaining clients in the sea view hotel rooms

I just don't understand what there will be that's worth seeing from the top. The English Channel - great; The South Downs - you can get much better views from driving or walking through the Downs; Brighton rooftops - wow; The Isle of Wight - on a clear day maybe.

As said by a previous poster, at least Portsmouth Harbour is interesting. And from the London Eye you get a panorama of the London skyline.

Indeed. The Wheel is really disappointing, the view is a load of sea and the rooftops of Kemp Town and Whitehawk - big whoop.

I have read that the bit which goes up and down can be hired for gigs. This has to happen.

So you get to see three times as much sea and three times as many rooftops. Amazing.

You will get a great view over Brighton and the Downs. Both beautiful, both full of sights worth seeing, and seeing them from a new angle will be lovely.

It'll be brilliant.

It will also look great from the beach, close up or from a distance, and from the sea.

I don't understand the negativity.

The views you show from the Spinnaker are fine and you didn't even show the Isle of Wight. However, I fear that the thing is bound to fall over at some point as the weight of visitors is always on one side given that nobody ever looks out of the other side to see the slums of Fratton, Copnor, Milton, etc.

I haven't got a problem with it, and it will look good at night. Will be interesting to see if it actually draws in the 400k visitors needed to break even though. They originally estimated that it would attract 800k. The Wheel gets around the 185k mark, and it’s the same targeted tourist market.

It will probably be like a cattle market over the summer squashing in 200 people a ride, but on days like today and through the winter months, there might only be a few people on each ride with an empty 400 seater restaurant.

I will probably try once it out off peak, when it's not shoulder to shoulder in the pod.
