I would like to see :

Before Lewes :
1 striker
1 winger

Before Forest :
1 Central Defender
1 Attacking Central Midfielder

Before Transfer Deadline Day:
1 striker if we can sell O'Grady.
1 winger if we can shift Chicksen ( or another ) out of the squad.

If we are playing 4-4-2, we certainly need cover or better options on the flanks for March & Lua Lua. My concern is that those two will pick up quite a few injuries and we'll start playing Baldock on the left and Calders on the right. Two wingers before Forest would be most welcome.

I'd go along with that. The first four are essential, so we need those in ASAP before the start of the season.

The other 2 are needed for us to chalenge at the top. So we must not ignore them. Unfortunately i can see the club doing just that.

It looks like, as usual, the club has done all it's business nice and early.

I am going to predict ONE new singing in the next 60 hours. A quality attacking addition, a (probably)known name and someone who has graced a top flight somewhere in the world.

N.B I have no sources or connections, so please take this as the wild speculation it was intended to be.

My Albion Mojo is waning a little at the moment, as the excitement of signing Hemed, Rosenior and Bong has worn off. Plus we're still short of a winger or 2, plus another striker. Yes, we need a CB as well, but they tend to somewhat easier to come by. I feel there must be at least 1 attacking player coming in THIS WEEK.

I know the Norwich fan on here said would cost 4m and wages are ridiculous but if Hudds and Bolton lead the way then I'd hope we were in there going all out to get him.

He would go there out of all clubs mentioned above

This is just a personal opinion of mine but I think Baldock is actually a better player and a better finisher than Hooper..............Lots of others will disagree and I am not saying he isn't a good striker because he is but Baldock has a lot more pace than Hooper does.

I do hope your right re the attacking player as this was obviously the area we were lacking last season, however with Hooton being well known for his boring defensive tactics, I am not holding my breath.

He was even mentioned on Talkshite the other night when they discussed how he turned Norwich from an attacking minded team to a defensive one. Can see this happening to us too TBH

Worth remembering Norwich were in the prem and going on the attack with the players they had probably would of had bad results. Similar to us last year. We had to get solid to pick up points .

Its getting frustrating that despite all the talk we are 3 weeks out and only 1 unproven attacker better off. No need to panic but a decent signing this week (especially for cash) would lift everyone.

Don't think he played that defensive at all last season on the whole. It's more a myth Norwich fans created that some of our fans latched on to.. IMO of course..

As I've been forced to say before, ask Birmingham or Newcastle fans whether Hughton is a negative / defensive manager.

nothing wrong with a defensive team as long as they are a good defensive team
dirty Leeds done it for years and won trophies, trouble is where do you find a sniffer Clark and a Jonny "put it on a sixpence" Giles ?

EDIT
but I will add you will have to get used to cheering just one goal:lolol:

Understand what you are saying and the evidence is there with Norwich, however, I think Hughton came with the remit last year of keeping us in the division by any means necessary.

I believe Bloom liked the football philosophy employed by Poyet, which was quite attractive at times IMO (I know others disagree), and I feel Bloom will have made it clear to Hughton upon his appointment that the passing philosophy and general attractive play must continue.

I think the last time I posted on this thread I said we wouldn't be singing anyone for a while yet and we signed someone that evening.

Nah we won't be singing anybody this week or next
