Heard about this one last week but assumed it was already mentioned on here.
100% reliable.

For me 2 new wingers is as important as 2 new strikers... So glad we are looking at players like this. Not only did we have strikers who couldnt find the net last season but we also had wingers who had apparently forgotten how to cross a ball and provide the assists.

Very much this. Hughton played a full-back on one side & a striker on the other. No wonder we barely created anything. Obviously he didn't trust KLL enough to nail down a spot, so he was always going to make an investment in this part of the team. Personally I hope he gets two wingers & one striker, rather than one winger & two strikers.

Murphy, Alireza with March (fitness/development dependant) & Lua Lua as impact players and the new young guy Ward & Mokana in development squad pushing on sounds positive for wingers next season. (subject to transfers actually being completed)

Swap for COG?

A catch 22 situation for O'Gravy , the Blades wouldn't be able to match his current wages but he would be back in Yorkshire. Might hinge on the length of contract he is offered. Interesting that the fee being mentioned for Miller is in the same ball park as the fee COG would achieve from a motivated club keen to sign him.

It would be so refreshing to see wingers running down our wings as opposed to strikers.

Sign him up!

Last time I can remember that was KLL and Buckley against Palace when we won 3-0! Shame Poyet didn't think to stick with that tactic in the play off.

COG plus cash would be great.

Anyone recall how many times KLL was used out wide last year? Seemed to bumble along in a central role that didn't suit him. I wonder if some competition out wide might suit him, rather than the sulky attitude he showed at times this season.

Get his attitude right and he's potentially our most dangerous player but I fear it's too late for that.

That said, my sketchy memory suggests he was one of our better players under the clueless finn, not that I remember much

With 2 wide men perhaps we will see Baldock doing what he has proved he can do get in the box and score goals, which is why we paid good money for him,. This also does away with the need for a 'lump of wood' up front to play off. This will allow us to break quicker and counter attack at speed.

He was probably up there with Dunk as the player of the first half of the season, and was one of the few players that seemed to give a shit at times in that period.

Main problem he has when playing as the only winger is that teams seem to be able to double up on him. Maybe playing as a pair will make him more consistent, as he can certainly scare defenders when he's on his game.

Totally agree. Iranian Ali and this lad would provide competition with KLL for proper chance creating wingers. Then perm two from Baldock, COG, Colunga and maybe one new class striker - the sort of striker CMS was supposed to be.

I also agree with this. I really believe Baldock is going to be a different player if he can get real service.

We have signed one winger and are now targeting two more? As long as they all have pace it sounds exciting

I'm guessing CH likes wingers? Wasn't it him that brought in the very impressive Redmond at Norwich?

It's weird isn't it? After a period of nothingness and a bit of nocturnal seepage starting to happen I have seen enough intent today to renew a season ticket after a season away.
