Just voted 1, this is a desperate season.

I'm an optimistic 7 - we've got the right man in Hughton and the stadium is still looking pretty. The missing ingredient is a board showing the ambition of Bournemouth's or Derby's or any other club at the top we could name. But maybe that will change in the summer, they dodged a bullet with the renewals just recently and surely they will realise they have to lead from the front now and back Hughton with some cash.

Mine's as low as it has ever been as an Albion fan and I've seen some dross turning out in Albion shirts over the years. This current lot are as bad as it gets and that includes management and coaching staff.

Even if you've only been a fan for say 13 years you'd have seen us have a couple of promotions from the 3rd division. The first time they went straight back down which seems incredibly disappointing considering they won the 3rd so impressively in 2002. The second time they struggled a bit like now and went down the next season. They they had a few seasons not doing much in the 3rd again. This season it looked very likely we were going down, now it looks like we'll be ok. Not very good at all, but the worst it has ever been? Get out of town kid! With respect if you don't mind me saying, twit

Brighton factually.....
I actually don't care anymore this season, I could not care less if we went down. I have lost my mojo and I am finding it hard to get enthusiastic about next season even.

Can't wait for this season to be over, and then, what we need is a SOLID summer with some exciting signings and more importantly a manager in place from the end of this season, to the beginning of the next.

I think you must be the twit-not knowing how long I've been following The Albion and using a term that I didn't. Not, worst it's ever been, as low as it's ever been. Results and performances this season have been as bad as some of our worst seasons since I started out as an Albion fan-probably a lot longer ago than you btw. Add to that the corporate feel about the place where we are paying premium prices for anything Albion and it adds up to feeling as bad about the club than I can ever remember. Poor recruiting decisions being made and an air of arrogance at the club add to this. It's not all about results.

I totally agree with Bwian this is the lowest its been ever (1973). Not the poorest football, but definitely lowest mojo and my main reason for this is the hiring of an average or below manager IMO called hughton who plays boring football, awful appointment and showed our lack of ambition in abundance.

I'm not sure why you chose 13 years. If you'd gone back further, if you'd had a season ticket at Gillingham for example, you could have found even more examples of teams much worse than the current one. But it's not just about results is it? Perhaps the Board thinks it is. The impression is that they think a few defeats will make the customers sad and a few wins will make them happy. "Chuck em a couple of 5-nils and they'll be back."

It sounds pretty patronising to me but perhaps they're right. Perhaps you're right too. Let's see if lots of lost season tickets get renewed and real crowds surge back to previous levels on a good start next season. I hope they do but there's a danger they won't. The previous poster may not be the twit you suggest..

This. I made the conscious decision not to go much this season for financial and other family reasons. I'm just delighted, that if I have to miss more or less an entire season, it had to be this one. Ruined by incompetence on an unexpectedly grand scale and involving an incredible number of absolute tosspots at the club. I'm so angry at so many people, I'm best off out of it for now.

Looking forward to the next smug email telling me I'll probably be very happy with the squad come October 1st (or some other random date long after the season has actually started)

I went back 13 years to illustrate there have been worse times even in recent history and not everyone is over 50. 13 years ago we were promoted to the 2nd division after a 10 year spell in the basement divisions.
Going back to the Gillingham days is kind of obvious given, for example they were only getting 2k crowds [understandably]. Face it, a couple of wins and everyone's moods change. At least you admit that much. Anyway if crowds DO decline that backs up my theory we could have been in an lengthy honeymoon period, which I hope is not the case.

It was understandable when we were shit in those days with everything that was going on off the pitch. With our stadium, training ground and current attendances, this season has to go down as one of our biggest under achievements in a very long time.

well yes! Plus the distance! They won't of course but if they win the last 2 games, mojos will be miraculously restored.

I agree with all of that except I never thought it looked like we were going down this year. I'm actually more concerned now than I was in December.

Definitely, I cannot ever remember us underachieving this much. But that wasn't what Bwian said. He said he's seen some dross turning out in Albion shirts over the years, and this lot are as bad as it gets. We've spectacularly under-performed, yes, but they're not the worst players we've seen.

My Albion mojo is low right now, because we're doing badly. Some good summer signings and a good start to the season (if we're in the Championship) and my mojo will be sky high again. I realise not all fans feel that way. A lot feel that the club is losing it's identity, that it's too corporate, that the board don't care about the fans. I don't know why they feel like that, it's not how I feel.
