Subs: Walton, Halford, JFC, Holla, Tex, CMS, Best

Tex isn't effective away from home because of the way Hughton sets ourselves up to play on the break (but without pace!). Ledsema (or however you spell it) is terrible. Saw him at Reading, he wasn't great. Aged RB Calderon offers more attackive savvy. CMS was unlucky to be ruled offside yesterday, but I'd still switch him around for COG. Millwall play deeper than Wolves, so CMS will be less effective. COG is also much beter at winning the ball in the air and playing in other teammates, so he'll suit the lone striker role much better. I liked the idea of dropping Greer a few weeks ago. But, with Dunk suspended, I wouldn't change both CBs at once. I thought Greer had one of his better games verses Wolves, despite getting lucky not to get sent off!

I wouldnt start COG as a lone striker against Shittu as he will get eaten up. Either start with him and a supporting striker or just a fast attack and not hit the ball long and high, play him on the ground and get behind him rather than over him. Possibly a case for starting Best who is quicker than COG.

Pretty much this, but I'd have Hughes rather than Halford in defence. The wide left position is the problem, now that Baldock and March are both out injured. Not sure CMS is the answer - it's a bit left field, but might be worth putting Halford in there; not great as a left winger, but could lend a useful bit of extra muscle to help COG deal with the likes of Shittu, and would probably defend reasonably well too.

CMS at left midfield is probably the best choice of a bad bunch. At least if he plays there he can run the channels, which he's good at. Pace at Shittu is a good idea, you'll win nothing with muscle against him! I'd like to see Halford somewhere on the pitch, his throws are as good as free kicks.

You don't give up do you?

I am not saying that we should start Best over COG who is the much less mobile of the two but Shittu is also rather static so there is a need to try to by pass him on the ground and run past him. I queried whether Best who has done nothing so far would be best suited of the two to do that.

I'm pretty sure Dunk isn't suspended as one of his ten yellows was against Brentford when he got sent off so I don't think that count towards a ban?

On the evidence of what I've seen I wouldn't put Best anywhere near the starting line up - he spent most of the time v Brum on his arse looking to "uncle Chris" for a bit of support.

COG on the other hand certainly has the strength to hold Shittu off and (pretty well) his whole game is about holding off central defenders and bringing others into play. Vs Arsenal where he was superb against Koscielny so much so that he was occupying Monreal for long spells too. His lay offs/through balls can be pin point (Lua Lua v Derby) and if we have Tex, KLL, Baldock, or anyone playing off him then Shittu is little better than a statue imo

That is where we disagree as I think Shittu will swallow him up hence looking for a similar type but more mobile. Shittu is solid but lacks mobility. There is of course the option to play both in sync and Shittu cant master them both at the same time.
