I agree with the idea we are trying to stick to FFP but why basement bargain signings all the time. Other clubs can sign players on loan paying a portion of wages so why cant we. We have one of the largest crowds in the division and one of the highest entrance fees so our costs for The Amex must be outrageous if we cant hit FFP targets.

The club spends £1 million on subsidised transport every season, which would pay for at least one other player.

Thats the problem, expectation from fans in that we have a nice stadium, lots of STs and they don't understand that even with that, it doesn't add up to having the budget of a top premier league club and able to splash out multi millions on several players each transfer window.

Anything less is deemed the cheap option and used as a stick to bash the club with whilst grumbling that there must be something fundamentally wrong at the club if we are unable to do that and spreading discontent which is far more damaging to the club and it's long term aims than anything the club is doing.
Bit of an exaggeration there, I don't think BG was expecting premier league spending, but asking why we can't compete with the likes of Bournemouth, Brentford etc. not unreasonable is it.

Blimey, I never realised that the damage being brought upon the club by the events of the last 20 months is mainly down to supporters having the temerity to talk about them. Sorry Paul.

He hasn't neglected the playing side, unfortunately he was led to believe by the buffoon team of Burke and Hyypia that the playing side was sorted. He has been ill advised at worst not neglectful.

It is unfortunate he decided to employ them in the first place.

At what point did Hyypia think the playing side was 'sorted'??
He looked in despair from day one and if rumours are to be believed he tried to resign almost immediately.

have we replced any of the players that have been sold, that were the backbone of the side, yes and the ones we have signed have been the cheaper option and its not the players fault that they have been of a lesser standard .......................................................and wheres all that money gone to

That is my point why do we appear to not be competitive when it comes to recruiting players . The latest rumour is a typical example of looking at who is cheap rather than who we need. I can fully understand not being able to afford the wages of SWP but there must be better options than those we chase and sign. If it s a case of money why not just say to CH you have an adequate squad it is up to you to get them performing why add seemingly inferior players to it.

Prior to about 20 months ago, most would seen a mid table finish as a very good season, since we finished 4th under Gus and then the season under Garcia where we didn't play they well but sneaked into the play-offs again it seems that anything less than automatic promotion is an absolute failure. Expectations have risen beyond what the club can easily deliver.

Where does it say that the players we have are a cheaper option? We've been told the playing budget is the same. The quality of players may not be as good, but it doesn't mean they are cheaper.

Expectation is to not be fighting a relegation battle having sold good players and replaced them with far inferior players not only to what we had but to this division in general.

Thats contradictory if they are not as good as you rightly say why sign them if they are on even more wages than the original better players.

its just that we have more of them KEMI for one, can someone tell me why they cannot just sack him

It will cost as much to pay him off, as to keep him. I'm not saying that he's conning the doctor but he isn't 'fit' to play.

TB expected us to be in the top six this season

When Hypia resignd just before Christmas it was in TBs hands to make a statement and back it up with some reasonable signings to reach his predicted target but nothing has happened we have just signed more dross, although I think Best will come good.

I wrote an email to TB last year, basically asking questions as a fan about Brighton's position with Hyypia at the helm, as we were not doing too well at the time.
I got an immediate response from PB, explaining in great detail that TB was as committed as ever to see Brighton progress to the Premier League and beyond.
All of us want Brighton to do well, but some things take time, hopefully in CH we have a manager who understands the Championship and will take us to the new level.
I agree its frustrating, but its TB's train set, so let him play with it and have faith.

I am not sure how it is now but it was that if you wanted shot you just gave them a free transfer. Players like Kemy cost nothing so to give him and McCourt a free transfer is a win win situation that would cost us nothing.

TB is a long standing fan who has invested millions into his club but why has he neglected the playing side. I would
have thought that would be of the utmost importance especially to a fan, so please explain to me why you think this is so as I dont understand it.

HE hasn't neglected the playing side at all. He has employed a CEO that has cut costs by at least 4m in the last year, to ensure that the playing budget has stayed at least the same as previous years. We are told that this is the highest budget on the playing side that the club has ever had and we will see how true that is when the accounts are published this time next year, but I have no reason to doubt that. So TB has done all that he can to maximise the playing budget.

Sadly it appears that he entrusted that budget to people who did not know how to spend it in the most efficient manner. The leader of those people has left TB's employment, which says a lot. The money has been spent - as El Pres points out on the Roar, Baldock is the 3rd highest signing in the clubs history and Stockdale is the 4th, so the money has been there and been spent.

All in all I am not sure what you are implying or what you expect.
