I'm currently wearing shorts, although I believe I get a bye as they are exclusive to Royal Mail.
I guess that bye will be rescinded when I walk the few hundred yards to pick up the kids from school later, in shorts.

I've never worn trousers for work, unlike some of my jumper, trouser, hat, scarf, glove, TWO coat, waterproof trouser (to keep out the cold) wearing colleagues. I'd put my sickness record up against any of theirs all day long and win.
Who'd have guessed swilling around in your own sweat all day like boil in the bag rice, would be bad for you.

I left home at 5am this morning after scraping the frost off my car. I turned left out of my road to see a guy walking towards the train station in a pair of shorts, hiking books and a thick jacket.

I wear shorts when indoors. I'll wear them on a quick trip out, whatever the weather. Nothing to do with showing masculine pride. More to do with 'can't be arsed to change' and will suffer the cold consequences.

Same here, got them on as we speak.

My postie t'other day was wearing two pairs and advised me that the top pair were waterproof! Also that it is more comfy to walk round with wet legs than have a pair of wet trousers clinging to them.

nPrize goes to a guy in shorts and T shirt, and beach sandals outside Morrisons at the weekend. He didn't look as though he had been exercising though, or if had been it certainly wasn't working.

Reading about hiking at 5am at least shows the fella is keen.

I gave an unholy sneer to a gangly buffoon of a cyclist wearing short, flyaway, almost-ball-revealing shorts yesterday morning. What a nobber. Luckily he had gloves on, otherwise I would've given him a talking to. Is it just when getting older, at least into your mid-30s, that you start to log every act of the unwise, your sigh becoming louder and seemingly for almost everyone?

Exactly this. I am working from home today so in shorts and a tee shirt. If I pop to the shop I won't bother to change. Can't be arsed.

You would be surprised how warm you get on a 12 mile walk pushing a trolley over 4 hours. I stopped wearing shorts about November but can understand Posties getting hot at the speed we have to work now. It's like doing 4 hours (delivery) of exercise at pace and not many people would wear trousers for that!
