That doesn't answer the question. So if there are 6 or 7 big clubs, do you believe the Palace are punching above their weight by being 15th in the Premier League?

Back in 1977 it was exiting times at Brighton. It looked like we were going places. There was one team, who by chance were the closest team as the crow flies who could scupper our progress. There was a series of games against them in the then Holy Grail of the FA cup. Palce came out triumphant, assisted by a mixtures of extraordinary luck and bizarre refereeing decisions. A few months later we had a crucial match at Selhurst and took a massive knock much to the pleasure of gloating Palace. We got promoted. No thanks to Palace. The next season we were there challenging Spurs and Southampton but only 2 teams got promoted. Goal average meant that if Spurs and Saints drew 0-0 both would go up at Brighton's expense. Quel surprise. Palce were nowhere. Season 78/79 after a bit of a slow start, Brighton took the division by storm. Stoke and West Ham seemed to be the biggest threats to progress, but then … hang on who are those annoying upstarts from South London thinking they could join the party. Palarse only had the audacity to win the league at the last gasp with a crowd of over 50 thousand watching the last game at Selhurst. Both were promoted. Season 79/80 started off with Brighton as red hot relegation favourites after a few games and Palrse dubbed the prospective team of the 80s. Then came Boxing Day! Palace had been in the top flight before and subsequently and never went below the 2nd tier again. Bigger teams than Palace, Leeds, Wolves, Sheff u and w etc have suffered. Yes there are not many teams smaller than Palace in the top flight. Maybe Swansea, Hull, Burnley etc but there isn't going to be another prospective 'team of the decade' outside of the top 4 like there was in the past. Happy.

What's going on? I'm a very happy Brighton fan. I seem to have got mixed up in a scrap between Palace and Spurs fans on a Brighton forum!

Personally I'd swop where you are to where we are--------------------BUT I hope you get relegated and we stay up.
Then I can get a matching WOODEN seat to the one someone dropped in my lap in the play-off game.
